How many cars do you have!
As mentioned, 4 in the house and the Vienta is the most loved car with 8 years under my name and would be another year. Others are from 2 months to 5 years old. Nothing wrong with the Vienta just up and go, that why I bought the Presara recently.
Also as mentioned elsewhere in this forum, the BMW is the least reliable car, engine failed twice during last 4 years (from brand new). I wanted to kick it out but my wife did not let me do so. Could be the service interval is too long which contributes to those failures.

My 2003 Camry also requires service every 7500km. I think it is standard for Toyota
Thanks - My Camry (Vienta Grande 1999 - still own) has 10,000k intervals, my Honda CR-V has 15,000k intervals and my BMW318i has 25,000k intervals. I thought with new "technology" could be around 10,000k - but actually not. I don't know why the mechanics put a sticker for the end of Feb-2008 - 6 months down the track.

Hi all,
2 weeks ago, I took my Presara to a dealer for a check up (around 2,500km). Today, looking at a small ticker on the windscreen which shows my next oil change is late Feb-2008. Again, reading thru the manuals which say the car has 7,500 km service intervals.
My question: Do you know any car which requires service every 7,500 km or only the Aurions ? (I thought around 10,000 or 15,000 km).
Regards,

I will post number for the Presara sometimes later after running it for at least 1 month
BH
Yes, after 1 month - these are the numbers:
One tank using 95 but from my view it's totally hopeless. I put 35l on the very first tank (Toyota put 35l ?). Normal daily home-work-home and shopping weekends.
BH
Just having another "test": A return trip (over 2500km from) Melbourne to Sydney with 2 days travelling around few busy streets in Sydney
Best: 7.838l/100km - Worse: 11.994l/100km (tank to tank)

My Presara has same noise but very hard to find where - Definitely something is tapping the windscreen, not very often but annoying - I took my son to go for around 100k but he could not hear anything on freeway.
BH
I brought my car to the dealer for "the first checkup" today - they could not find it. By they way, I asked them to disconnect the centre stop light but the light is still there (I did not check when picking up the car until get home) and in the invoice they put this "centre stop light has been disconnected". This makes me wandering how good the service was .

I agree we are being "nannied' to death by Toyota and all those STUPID American Law suit driven things.
Elsewhere in the the manuals which says something like this: do not keep the tank below 1/4 its capacity, that means below 17.5l. There must be a good reason behind this (I don't know) but the light comes up as designed.

Hi There,
Had my ZR6 for just over a month now and I'm loving it, however the dash makes a squeak or creek now and then when going over small bumps. I can replicate the squeak by pushing the dash behind the steering wheel. Sounds like the dash is in too tight and rubbing up again the window or something.
I'm wondering if it is caused by a detailing product that may have been used by the dealer to clean the windows or wipe the dash. Anyone else have this problem? I thought of using some sort of lube, but I don't want to make it worse or introduce any new problems. Anyone got any ideas?
Cheers

Hello All,
I have a question on the Audio System in Sat nav System thats available on the Aurion as an option or standard in the Presara ( which I have on order ),
The Question is: Will a DVD play in the system?
Simple answer: No - The system has 1 slot for DVD and 1 slot for CD (can hold 4 CD's). The slot for DVD is for the map, it does not have built-in memory. I believe it can play DVD but need a firmware (or hack) - one more thing: its screen is not suitable for movies.

hello every1,
I was searching the net lately and I'm thinking about getting a presara
but I have some questions to ask you
I saw a ZR6 with sat nav and smart entry/start system
does this model have the HID kit, reversing camera, sun/moon roof, bluetooth? - I believe just pay $$$ and you will get it (BH)
Is there AUX in the presara for the ipod? - No (BH)
and the last question is:
is there any accessories for the aurion available now?
lowering springs, body kit, CAI, SRI, Exhaust system, etc
I'm ganna wait and see if I can afford the TRD aurion (don't think I will <_< )
and I'll probably buy a 2008 presara
waiting for ur replies

What car was this that caused all these problems??? Obviously something 4 cylinder, but I don't think even my lemon magna has cost me that much!
Also... what do u mean by "All 4 engines failed"? I take it u mean cylinders? lol
Not a Magna, it's a BMW318i Exec with 4 more options (Moon roof, Onboard Computer, Wood grain, Metalic paint). Well, not 4 engines, actually the engine with 4 cyls because the car did not go anywhere. Late May 2007, on the trip back to Melbourne from Adelaide the car simply did not start after a break at Border Town - Local machanics gave me some helps and then people from RAA (?) could not make it start therefore the car must be towed back to Adelaide - after 4 hours, Adelaide Motors found the problem but no part.

as said before European cars may give you some status but it will break your heart more often than status :)
Persara with a spoiler is something different. Kinda like a IS250 on drugs, me thinks! LOL
And here is another "status", just received reconcillation bill for the last 4 years:

I know Sensis are the biggest suplier of electronic maps... In the TOMTOM theyare up to Version 14 now. I wonder if the upgrade will be free? Some roads in WA are missing on the Version 13 we get with the Presra.
I believe we have to pay for it - hope it is not expensive - (double a normal directory is ok).

I don't think anything could be worse than my TP when it comes to fuel economy haha... it averages close to 18L/100k in city, and only does about 15l/100k on freeways (weeping injector and worn chains)!
....
Totally agree, I once had a TP Elante (1990), a nice car but after doing around 75,000 it used petrol more than I drank beer. I did sell it privately for $3,000 mid 2002.

It should be behind some kind of carpet/fabric type material. There should be tabs you need to pull off before you access the tail lights......
Many thanks for all sugestion but I have to give up - waiting for my first service (5000km or 3 months). - I could not access inside due to the blind, could not find cables from the boot - cables go to the lights on the spolier come from somewhere at the front of the car and they are tied up (using normal cables ties) with the boot hinge.
Again - thanks,

Agree about the radio dashboard being a bit bright....but looks very eye catching.
Mine is actually too dark in comparison with my other cards (Honda, Toyota Vienta & BMW318i).

That means your car is one week newer than mine - Have fun - I've got 700k fun over 1 week - will take a "test drive" this Sunday.
BH
-
You can easily remove the wiring harness connected to the tail lights...
on a side note, i think removing that would be a bit dangerous...since people will expect to see you break with the taillight turning on at the right spot and not necessarily on the spoiler...
Thanks - Looking around but could not find the cables. The spoiler covers >80% of the taillight anyway and looks not professional when both lights turn up at the same time. Will look closer this weekend.
Again, many thanks

Hi guys,
I have a presara and there is this safety feature which is annoying. When the car is moving, I can't press most buttons that are available for navigation or audio or phone such as, putting in new address, browsing files of MP3, or dial a new number. Does anyone know how to disable this stupid feature? I asked my local dealer but they don't have any means to disable this and suggested to post a question in forum. Who knows some hackers out there managed to bust this feature altogether?
Hi - me again,
After searching the Net, I've found many "hits" but a lot of them like/similar this:
Many of the Toyota nav systems have an override code to allow for entering
new addresses etc while the car is moving. You can search on the net to
find needed sequence. The override instructions for my Highlander are as
follows. I have been told that this works on some Lexus models
"To Override : Push the menu button, push the volume icon in the middle the
screen, push the volume icon in the top left corner of the screen, push the
bottom left corner (with no icon), push the volume icon in the top left
corner of the screen (again), push the botton left corner (with no icon)
(again). At this point a new menu appears. Some cool stuff here like the GPS
satellite data. I would not mess with stuff though, because you might screw
up your car. One of the buttons says "override" push and hold this button
for 5 seconds, then release. The button will stay blue. Then push the back
button."
My sugestion is only let your passenger to do this when you are driving.
Good luck,
BH

That is not stupid, it is designed to keep the driver to concentrate on the road - some features are on the steering wheel.

I own a 2006 Aurion Sportivo SX6 (Carribean Blue), and its just gone past the 20,000km mark.
I've done a series of modifications, and was just trying to guage if there is any interest in me posting some "How to" guides.
The mods include:
Black Lighting - Under the passenger console and drivers console (Invisible until you put your feet there)
Accessory Power - Ive installed a Phone charger, Navman, and 3.5mm jack (what you would use for an Ipod for example) and all the cables are hidden.
Speakers - Ive done the 6x9 install in the front (I see that there is already a topic on that)
The Infamous Radio Backlight - I have installed a dimming switch with the help of a mate, and it was the largest time taking mod for the smallest result... Still i must say that it is remarkably less annyoing now
Neon lighting - Ive also installed neon boot lights, which serve more of a Useful purpose, as i found the stock boot lights a little poor.
Ive put some meshing in front of the radiator and ive got another black light on that which gives off a rather 'dull' glow. - I was hoping for alot more when i installed it, but at night it gives a bit of an effect.
Please let me know if you are interested in these mods, it's nothing incredible, but i have some photos during the install process of most of it, which might lend a hand if you take on one of these challenges.

Looks like you can open a workshop (just kidding). My small problem is I want to stop the stop lights at the back because I've already have lights from the spoiler. I don't have much time therefore I have to wait for the first service (and they may charge for it). I also wish to know more about the car. In short, my query: how can I stop the stop light at the back (even I have to cut the cable) ?
