Which dealer said this? call Toyotalink yourself and find out the truth. Hvae a look here it explains about it http://www.toyotalink.com.au/toyotalink .
To activate your Tototalink ACCOUNT is one thing though. The tototalink hardware unit in the car must be initialised or activated first. Check the website and then check your units led status lights. If it's activated you can just press the call button and register over toyotalink itself.
Many thanks for all comments - Last night after posting the message I logged on to toyotalink website and filling out few informantion, the website automatically gave me 24 hours (upto 21:05pm Sunday) to activate and instructions how to activate my account.
This morning (Sunday), following instructions, it took me around 2 mins to do this - very simple instructions:
(1) Start the engine
(2) Press the link, waiting for around 30 secs
(3) Confirm the password
Again, very simple and thanks

Sorry i didn't see this thread sooner.
Toyota Link needs to be activated or initalised at time of pre-delivery, take it back to the dealer who you got it from and ask them to do it properly.
Hope this helps.

Thanks I have activated the Toyotalink by mobile phone and yes you can activate it but unless the dealer initialises the unit in predelivery it dont go.
Bill Buckle forgot to do it. I guess that shows they haven't been selling many Presaras with Toyotalink!
I did ring them they told me i have to press the hospital button to turn it on. no kidding! I will worry about it at first service of corse we will have to have a little discussion about the subscription expiry date then too won't we.
My dealer said: He can't do this, it's up to customer after faxing an "application". He even photocopied few pages in his book for me (not the one goes with the car) and told to go for a shortcut. I have not activated it due to spending whole day today to move stuffs for my child. Will try it on Monday.

If they do fit it, show us a picture of the underside of the boot lid. I'm most interested at how they do it.
Get the car today (20 Jul), actually the dealer fitted and painted the rear spoiler - The first car arrived on 2 Jul but due to paper work I have to wait for this one - I don't know how they did it (my Vienta Grande also has rear spoiler) - I can only show outside, can not show inside. One thing I don't really like: both brake lights on. I may ask them disconnect the old brake light when first service comes.

One Silver Ash Presara with rear spoiler added:
1. Quote: 4-Jun
2. Paper work: ...
3. Approved: 18-Jun
4. Ordered: 21-Jun
Likely the car will be at the dealer: 2-Jul - Plan to pick up the car on 16-Jul (for paper work reason, can't pick it before that date)

I bit late due to my pay cycle starts on Friday this week and the car is there but the dealer needs time a spoiler. Then they have to fit it to the car, paint it before ready for me. May be this Friday (20/7) or Monday (23/7).

My Camry is 99' Model 2.2L, i pumped up the tyre to 36psi, better acceleration and save fuel too. But I did install high performance NGK spark plug lead. It is better torque than before...
Mine is 99 Vienta Grande, first 4 years 104,000+ average under 10l/100km, most of the time from home to work around 34km (45 minutes average) each way.

I know you can plug your iPod into an iTrip that broadcasts to the radio or you can save MP3s to a CD and play them that way (so 1990's) but have any of you bought a hard drive and connected it to the radio somehow? THat way, you can dump all your MP3s onto that and play all your life's music as you drive....
Or maybe there is a way to plug an iPod directly into the audio system and play that way.
I think not that simple due with current disk technology. BMW has USB port, some other vendors (radio for cars) also have USB port. One way to play around DIY job: drill a hole, install a jack, connect right cables and up you go, you can connect your iPod to the car stereo system - But I would not do this, as mention in your note, using iTrip or any FM thing probably the best option.
Good luck,

1st tank on Aurion has got me a bit worried. 230km and used 37.86L = 16.5L/100km in city driving.
As mentioned in one of my note, my worse experience was with a TP Magna but only around 15.5 l/100 - I sold it 6 year ago. I think you have to run more than 230km, say 4 tanks, and workout the average. 16.5 is a big number.

Anyone having problems with the aurions rear speakers over volume 30? Whenever i put mp3 cds on it, it sounds funny and irritating. Feels like the speakers can handle the bass on dance music. Treble is on 5 and bass is on 3. Is it because of the mp3 cds? However its good when i put original cds. any ideas?
Do you know the sample rates of those MP3 files ? Low quality MP3 files may not reproduce high quality sound specially high notes and low notes (ok for mid-range).

... Whats dual stand for? What does it do when its turned off or on?
It stands for: "Dual zone climate control which provides optimum comfort for everyone by enabling both the front passenger and driver to adjust their own temperature. Now that will stop some arguments".
My 2 cents question is: Does the air move ?

Hi all,
I'm having a stupid question: I've got 2 old cars which all under my name. Now my kids are growing up, I wish to give them those cars (they are using these cars now, insurance under their names). I know I have to transfer my name to theirs as gifts, do I need to pay transfer fees as normal ? I don't know the values of those cars (1 Vienta Grand, 8yrs old next month (150,000 km) and 1 CR-V sprt 5.5 yrs old (31,000km).
Please help.
Thanks

I was told the first complimentary service is at approx 1000km. Mind you, im a student and dont drive to uni at all so the car hasn't been driven much, so i haven't actually gone in for that service yet. But i do plan to go @ 1000km, not 5000km or whatever.
Actually i just looked at the service handbook. It says complimentary service is valid for use up to 3 months since u got the car, or 5000km. So i guess i should be doing that soon!
I think any car should be checked and change oil after 1000km - because even very high standard QA the car has not done real work and the first few litres of oil need to be replaced to flush out all tiny particles which could do no good for the engine. Car manufacturer should include this cost to their product.

Narva? maybe for halogen bulbs, never heard of them for HIDs.
Better go OEM. like valeo, philips and denso ballasts.
With bulbs it'll be harder to get OEM since you'll be using a halogen socket so you'll need a kit. Unless you can find a philips or osram rebased bulbs which are reputable HID bulbs.
As for relays, it is recommended as you don't want to fry your original wiring harness, as using HIDs you are running more current than the stock halogen bulbs. Better to be safe than sorry :)
as for color temperature, i would recommend nothing over 6000K, after that you're losing a lot of light output, might as well keep to halogen if you want to have the color.
Hi
1. I believe Narva does make HID (bulbs & kits)
2. I am not familiar with physics but the following articles say different thing

That a cool ride, you only missing 1 thing, where the window tint?
Do you know where we can to get "non metal" tint (in Vic) - Toyota says we can not use normal tint because this may effect the Toyotalink system.

Doesn't the trip computer have a function that tells you the average fuel consumption since you changed the battery? ......
Interesting to know this - I don't believe the trip computer but I have to keep the odometer reading (for tax reason, not log book) therefore my numbers look like these:
Comodore 3.8: 9.7 (better than the Vienta) over 4 years 100,000k
Vienta Grande V6 (a bit heavier than Camry V6): 9.8 over 4 years 100,000k
BMW 318i 2L: 8.7 same, over 4 years 100,000k
I will post number for the Presara sometimes later after running it for at least 1 month

I did not check the camera during my test drive last week. Today I went to the dealer and checked it, it is a wide angle lens. I think it is ok even with 2 telephone books on the boot. Anyway, I think we only use the camera for parking, we still have to check around to make sure no kid around.

Rear spoiler cannot be fitted with rear camera legally. That's not to say it will not physically fit.
Interesting to hear that - The dealer should know better than me and they are going to fit it for me - I don't know how they do this otherwise they can not charge me, they already have my deposit.

Many thanks for all comments and advices - As mentioned in my previous note, I will not trust European car anymore - I have submitted the paper work for a new Presara with one minor added: a rear spoiler. Hope it will not interfere with the camera.

Sorry, after searching 4 pages I can't find any page talking about Aurion experiences. I'm in the middle of my decision to go for a Presara. I've got an 8 yrs old Vienta and a 4 yrs old BMW318i - The BMW let me down during my trip to Adelaide late May 2007 - I had to stay one ngiht at Bordertown and one night back to Adeleide to get the car fixed. I've got 5 quotes one for BMW 320i Exec, one for Peugeot 407 SV, one for a Presara, one for an Audi A4 and one for a Lexus IS250 Prestige plus 8k package. The Presara is the cheapest (by the way, all quotes are for novated lease) and with my experiences with the Vienta (now my son is using it daily) I really prefer to go for a Toyota gain.
I would like to make decision this week. Any suggestion helps.
Thanks,
BH

Hi,
Two reasons which dictacted me to select silver
(1) I travel a lot under the sun - in theory, dark colors make inside the car hotter (the theory may be wrong),
(2) It is easy to see dirt from dark color cars, saving water is anothe reason,
and most importantly: my missus likes silver cars with black leather inside - now she keeps my silver BM after the lease and still wants me to get a silver car.
