  1. maybe is tyre noise., What's the noise like ?

Best way to describe the noise is probably to say it sounds like driving with a tyre with correct pressure on one side and a tyre with low pressure on the other side. Tyres have been checked for correct pressure and are correct. Could a drive shaft noise cut in and out at certain speeds and road conditions?? Any other bearings or joints/tie rods that could cause this?? Balancing seems right and feels right and so does alignment. Steering feels good too, could the power steering pump or any else related with this cause a noise that cuts in and out??

    Regards,

    Lauschie

    Its your tyre...

I have the same problem ... 80-100 ... hear this sound repeatedly.. like a "zzzzhh" sound every few seconds.

  3. Hey guys

On Saturday I installed the TRD CAI...

Woo hoo... how good is that induction sound!  :D

it was a very stressful 3 hours, especially since the TRD instructions bear very little relevance to the OZ model.

Want to send a very very big thankyou to Danthuyer for his help and phone calls on Saturday.  Without his help I would still be there tearing my hair out.

The 2zz sounds like a bloody F1 engine once it hits lift (exaggerating i know).  People turn aound and look, and my exhaust is stock!  Even put a smile on my girlfriend when she heard it.

    <_<  ;)  :)  :D  B)

I sure hope my girlfriend gets a smile on her face wen i get my AEM intake installed..

  4. hm...i'm averaging about 8.3litres/100km on city driving...and that's with the air-con turned off as well  :D

    with the air-con on, it's about 9.5-10litres/100km...

how'd you guys avergae 7s for city driving? i'm trying not to push the car too much, shifting around 3-3500rpm but can;'t really seem to get it under 8litres... :(

Im the same as u .. change gears on 3000-3200rpm.

do about 580kms with the fuel light on for about 15kms.

80% is driving on freeway to work.

  5. hey

i wanna lower my car and i dont know how much to lower it by

can anyone tell what height i should lower my car?

to make it look nice but not dumped to the ground

    Super low king springs 50mm.

should b installed for around $340-$350 mark

  6. If your looking to go 18's, 18x7.5 is the way to go.

A 225/40/18 will have a greater rolling circumference therefore putting your speedo, odometer out and also possibly effecting your performance/acceleration.

The closest match to the stock 195/55/16 is 215/35/18

Yes, its going to be firmer than a 225/40/18 but i'f your after a little more comfort it might be worth looking at a 215/45/17. This way you gain the ride you want and retain the true performance of the car and the correct info on the dash.

If anyone here is running 215/35/18 post up and give us your thoughts on the ride and performance.

Does the suspension crash and bounce about through bumps or is it still quite compliant?

Also, any unusual wear? insides wearing unevenly etc?

I think the ride is better den b4... handling is also a little better but going over bumps makes the car bounce more. If u give it a wheel alignment the tyres should be worn evenly. I havent had any problems so far.

  7. The car comes out of the factory with the paint protection standard, the dealers wont tell you this they just want some extra bucks on the side. You'll be paying a few hundred for just a cut and polish. :P

Rather save that few hundred towards tinted windows.

  8. A friend gave me a free simota pod filter and just before i think about installing it.. i'd just like to get a couple of things cleared up first.

    question 1:

Will their be an significant noise difference?

    Question 2:

I know its not legal, but iis there any way to make it legal??

    Answer 1 :

Plenty of noise after u hit 5000rpm  ...

Answer 2 : only way u want to make it legal is fit the pod filter back into the stock box :D

Do a search on this topic, i think question 1 has been covered

  9. thnx guyz i was just checkn :P  :P

but would u guyz know how much it would cost me for the rear skirt for my tivo i cant find  prices

i reckon d tivos butt sits to high without the rear skirt. the rear skirt completes d look wat r u opnions ?

Just lower it n its sexc ;)

For my own opionion with the rear skirt doesnt suit with the full kit .. at the beginning i wanted the rear kit as well .. but seeing it on other cars just didnt catch my eye ..

    Try lowering it 1st .. :D

  10. I saw a red 2005 on the street at Glenelg, SA last saturday night.  Not overly impressed with the small changes, esp. the red badge on the doors and the integrated front grille.

    Still prefer my 2004 !!

got my vote for that Cam

My mate tells me the mp3 player does not resume track every time u restart the car again... it has to read all 6 disc then restart the track u were currently playing.! :o

  11. Did you click on the link?  I will be driving from Geelong into Melbourne on Sat night, March 19.  Am keen to meet up with as many Sportivos as possible.  I'm not that familiar with the city, so am waiting for someone to suggest a meeting point and cruise route.

    Cheers!
