  1. Terry, do you know the difference between the BTR39 and the BTR39Z??? They both fit the Gen 5 Camry.
  2. Just don't say that to a Vietnamese person - you might cop a beating.
  3. Our Aussie Camries don't have them. I read http://www.micronair.us/assets/pdfs/118.pdf and then checked my 2003 Camry (pulling the glovebox out). It didn't have any filters there whatsoever.
  4. It's illegal to replace a steering that has an airbad with one which does not....
  5. Thanks for that - I'll wait for the Gregory's.....
  6. Where did you order your manual from? On the Haynes website, they don't have manuals for Gen 5 Camrys.
  7. But it doesn't include the grille?
  8. Please keep us posted. Yours is the 4-cylinder version, is it not?
  9. Flashtac is better than no deadening. But Leasaunce, you've spent quite a bit of money on your car already, you might as well do it properly. Here's an example of some of the REAL stuff: http://www.webaudiodirect.com.au/index.php?cat_id=27
  10. Leasauce, when I said, "You'll soon learn how good stuff like flashtak, brown-bread, Jaycar SD really are...." I was implying that they're not particularly good.
  11. For your reference: http://www.caraudioaustralia.com/content.php?contentID=19 http://www.fairfieldcarradio.com.au/MVC-629F.JPG http://www.fairfieldcarradio.com.au/services.htm That's how "proper" deadening of the doors should look. http://www.fastfoursforumscarclub.com/temp...dios/faq.asp#27
  12. Go to the Car Audio Australia Forums and have a read through them. You'll soon learn how good stuff like flashtak, brown-bread, Jaycar SD really are. General consenus is Dynamat Extreme > Focal Soundoff Classic (this is what I have) > Stinger Roadkill. Mind you, the three aforementioned are top end sound deadening, and the difference between them isn't all that great.... Dynamat, Soundoff, and Roadkill are all excellent products. Pricey as well. PS. CAA is for "hard-core" car-audiophiles. The deadeners that I've mentioned as being excellent are good for both SQ and SPL setups. Flashtak and Jaycar are ok for the price, but there's a world of difference between these and the top products.
  13. If you're going to deaden your car, then you really ought to do it properly - don't skimp out on quality material. By far the best all round (and very expensive) is Dynamat Extreme. What do you plan to do the the deadener? Front Doors?
  14. ^^^ That's what I was thinking!! How did they bypass the alarm/immobiliser??
  15. I generally find that the displayed value is about 5 - 7% off in my car. That is, it registers, for example, that I've used 46L, but when I fill up, I can only manage 43L.
  16. Ummm - it's not a "true" injector clean, that is, injectors aren't taken out and cleaned ultrasonically. I just use Toyota's Jetstream Injector Cleaner, available from any Toyota dealer for about $10.

  18. Hi Cosmo. I also have the V6 Azura, and average about 10.9L/100km - and that's Sydney driving. I easily get over 600km on a tank-full. I use 98 RON fuel, and have my tires inflated to 34-35 psi. Every 5000km or so, I also give my injectors a bit of a clean using the Toyota dealers' ijector cleaner ("Jetstream").
  19. My mirror doesn't automatically go dark at night.... it goes dark when: a) it's dark outside (sensor out the front) AND B) when there's a bright light source shining into the mirror from behind the car - i.e. highbeam (sensor in the mirror). It has 6 levels of darkness, depending on how bright the light source from behind is.

Why don't youy contact bigbob - he's a fellow member of these forums. You can go to him, or he'll come to you. Sydney area, I believe.
  21. My Azura has GPS as standard. I've added satellite tracking, integrated blue tooth, electrochromatic mirror, and an MP3 stacker. But what I really want - which the 5.5s have, is steering wheel audio controls!!! :(
  22. No - I'm not quite that lucky. Mine is a Gen 5, not a Gen 5.5
  23. I too have a slight problem with ambient air being a little warm after I've driven it, parked it, and take it out for another spin. I just switch on the air conditioning for about 30 seconds to rectify it. As for some rattling in the roof headliner - I had the same problem. It was coming from the rear left of the roof, so I took it to Western Toyaota in Guildford yesterday, and they said that there were some loose wires in my roof. They tidied up all the wiring, reinforced it, and added some insulation to stop the noise from returning. As for the sound from the sunroof, I also have this problem - only when the sunroof is open, but more so when it is in the "tilt" position. the noise emanates from the long piece of plastic at the back of the sunroof, and it stops rattling if you're willing to put one hand on it while you're driving Yeah, as you've already said, there's not all that much you can do about the sunroof rattle. By the way, my car is a V6 Azura.
