Hi guys
Does anyone know where I can find a cargo mat to fit my 05 Corolla Sportivo?
Thought someone may be able to give me a heads up besides going thru a dealership, which I'm not sure if they would still be able to order any.

Hi everyone
I've just seen a light coloured oil stain on the garage floor, so I've checked under the car and can see the oil is dripping from the base of the gearbox.
Looking closely under the bonnet it looks moist around where the gearbox oil fill hole is.
Has anyone else experienced or know of this oil leak?
Would be great to hear from anyone with more info and advice :)

can't leak oil from the waterpump. It could be leaking from a number of places in that area, usually from the cam cover seal, but could also be from the vvt solenoid o-ring or the front timing cover to block interface (which is sealed with form-in-place-gasket/gasket goo)
Thanks so much for your reply mate.
I was thinking the same thing too.
I'm now wondering why the service mechanic at Toyota recommended to replace the water pump.
Any ideas?

Friendly bump hoping to get some feedback.

Hi guys
It's been a while but thought I would post a thread to get some expert help from current and previous owners of the mighty 2ZZGE.
I noticed a couple of drops of oil on the garage floor and had my mechanic look under the car where he said he could see oil around the water pump.
He said it's not an urgent fix and will more than likely stop but could come back. Well, that's exactly what happened...it went away and now it's come back.
So my questions are:
- Is it likely that the water pump can leak oil?
- Has anyone else had experienced this same issue?
- What kind of costs would I be looking at for the OEM part and labour?
Thanks in advance

Thanks heaps for your replies guys.
I didn't even think to look on eBay, I would however prefer it to be done properly. Knowing my luck I'll stuff up something!
Would appreciate your help offer mr2, I'm located in Sydney.

Hi guys,
The plastic casing on my remote key fob has started to crack and am wondering if anyone else has experienced this and what the best way replacement method is?
I'm guessing it's a dealer related issue where they need to re-code the key but wasn't sure of cost or if there is a part number available.
I've attached a photo to show its current condition - cracking starts from 'lock' button.
Any advice would would be great.

Keep an eye on the fluids, keep them topped up and get your mechanic to look when they get back. Not worth going to a dealer.
Thanks again mate.
Power steering fluid is currently on minimum.
Can you recommend a mechanic in the St George area?
-
Thanks for your reply mate.
Do you think it's worth going to the dealer for this fix?
My usual mechanic is on holidays and don't know of any other reputable ones that are local.

Hi guys,
I've noticed my Sportivo has left a small spot of red/pink fluid on the garage floor.
As it was located at the front drivers side I'm presuming it is power steering fluid.
Has anyone else experienced this type of leak on their Sportivo?
Would it be best to take it to a dealer or can anyone recommend a professional mechanic in Sydney who knows what they are doing and uses genuine parts?
Thanks in advance :)

hi guys,
well i managed to find some time and get around to fixing this but found as soon as i had unscrewed the casing screw and took out the 2 button piece it was actually working.
the buttons were locking and unlocking no probs.
do i need to worry or shall i just change the batter anyway?

Not at all , i removed it and took it to a little Asian Grocery shop and they sighted it and sold me 5 for 5 bucks , never run out again!
haha
love it mate!
too easy...thanks again :)

Change to a 205/50R16 tyre as it is more common than 195/55R16 and thus cheaper. I like the Bridgestone RE001 myself.
Thanks for the reply SuperDave.
I think the 205/50R16 is the way to go.
I want to keep my Sportivo as original as possible with the best fit and looking tyre on there so I am happy to spend that little bit extra.
The factory and current Bridgstone Turanza's are great and would be happy to stick with another Bridgstone tyre.
Can you recommend a good tyre place in Sydney that specialise in Bridgestone or Sportivo's for that matter? ;)

Mine did the same and was good as new after a battery change , very simple to do with a small phillips head , i used a hobby sized item
Thanks for your reply eviltwin :)
Where did you end up getting the battery from?
Surely I don't need to go to a dealer do I?

Hi guys,
My 2 button remote key for Unlocking and Locking does not seem to be working.
The small red light glows red when pressing either the lock or unlock button but to no avail do they work.
I tested out my spare key set which works no probs so I'm guessing it's just a simple battery replacement.
Has anyone experienced this issue before?
Do I need to go to a dealer?
I did not want to crack open the key and replace the battery to perhaps cause the key to be re-programmed.
This key has never had the battery replaced so it may just be a quick fix.
Any feedback or info would be great :)

Hi guys,
I'm looking to replace the original tyres on a 2005 Corolla Sportivo.
I was very happy with the Bridgestone Turanza's since day 1 but wouldn't mind a comparison.
Does anyone know what the original tyre specs are/were?
Would appreciate any info and recommendations :)
Cheers

Try these guys:
www.scratchmagic.com.au
I've called up their Melbourne counterparts on two occasions to have scratches and minor dents repaired and their work is exemplary, even dealers use these guys, ...and they come to your door to do the job.

Thanks for the advice m_luke :)
Will def give these guys a call.

Hey Guys,
I just noticed on my '05 Sportivo that towards the rear/end of the left hand side skirt near the little mesh bit is a white mark looking like a chip or scratch off the paint.
I'm not so panel beater minded but was wondering if anyone knows what the best way is to treat and fix this problem.
I don't know if it needs to be resprayed or if it can be just touched up.
The chip/scratch isn't very big, just looks damn annoying being a black car and especially to me knowing it's there!
Any info or feedback would be great :)
Cheers

Hey Guys,
I too like Wivvix bought the Meguairs Clay Kit and it worked wonders!!!
It's amazing how quick the clay bar became dirty just by picking up surface rubbish after a Gold Class wash!
One question I have though, what is the best way to keep the clay bar clean?
I was a little worried having to re-apply the clay bar back onto the paint surface once it was becoming rather dirty.

I can't wait to give my black rolla a detail.
It's been a while and well overdue so I'm looking forward in getting stuck into it!
Just to get this right, after the clay procedure do you then continue on to wax or apply polish (Meguiars Step 1, 2,3) or do you just use the quick detailer to finish off?
Also. where do you usually buy your Meguiars products from Wixy?

with the toyota sat nav for the corolla sportivo can u watch dvd on it or is it just a sat nav??
Steve,
here are couple ofo close-up pictures of the Toyota Satnav
It reads DVD-ROM, but wont play DVD movies. There should be a way of cracking it.
as one guy mentioned to you, not worth it. You could get the Pioneer AVIC-HD3 or AVIC-D3 for the same price.
Is the Pioneer model above Sat Nav based too?
-
^
Thanks for that awesome reply Wixy.
Sounds like ur a real pro when it comes to detailing...we must be related then! LOL
There are some great hints and tips in there so thank you.
I guess you need a full weekend to complete those steps as you have mentioned above....but the results will speak for themselves.
Meguiars rocks!
-
Sounds awesome.
So does the Meguiars clay kit come with wax too or do you use a separate Meguiars wax?
Also, where is the best place to buy it from?
Places like Super Cheap Auto?
EDIT - Is this the one?
-
I def want to try out the clay procedure and hit it up with Meguiars.
So what are the best procedures for clay time?
Would it be:
1. Wash
2. Clay
3. Detailer Spray
Or would you just need to wash and clay and nothing else thereafter?

Hi mate, either carpet or rubber is fine. I wasn't sure if there was an OEM one.
Ive already got the rubber type flap that folds out over the bumper, but am now carting a pram so thought it would be better to get something on top to keep the original boot carpeted floor in extra better condition.
I'd prefer genuine if possible.
