  1. That would be great if you could keep intouch and pass on the part no. when u can RoLLing BLK :)

I too am looking to get one.

If anyone can recommend the best place in Sydney to get this that would be a help also.

    Cheers

  2. Thanks heaps for all your feedback guys however I do have an update on this rattling issue.

The rattling is definately not gear box related. The rattling noise occurs even when in neutral and when rev'd inbetween 2500-3000 rpm. Any lower or higher than this the rattle is not heard.

I tried to pin point where this crazy rattle is coming from (quite hard when doing this on ur own!) and put my ear where I could. I found the noise is coming from within the cabin, left hand side, rear of the dash towards the windscreen and around the bottom of the upper windscreen frame.

I thought it could be perhaps something within the windscreen air con vents or even the passenger side airbag but i am yet to look into the side kick panels also.

  3. Hi Guys,

I am hearing a rattling noise which sounds like it is coming from the passenger left hand side lower dash or front end.

At first I thought it was the loose cd covers and sunglasses I had in the glove box but once I took those out the rattling noise continued.

I have a feeling that it could be the left hand side wheel arch plastic underguard with one of the button clips missing. Im not 100% sure on this though

The rattling noise dosent occur all the time, it is noticable when shifting between 2nd, 3rd and 4th gears at around 2500rpm.

I would appreciate anyones feedback, recommendations and suggestions as im wanting to resolve

this asap since its driving me crazy!

    Cheers

  4. Thanks for all your advice and suggestions guys. :D

To be honest this is the first time i have ever heard about small capacitors.

I didnt even know they existed!

I will do another brief test on the speakers.

It is only my left hand side front passenger do that is causing the slight bass distortion.

    All other speakers are fine.

Do you guys know if its easy enough to take off the door trim to get to the speaker

and to then possibly add the small capacitor or new speakers?

I dont want to force anything out nor brake anything in the process! B)

    Cheers

  5. Hi Guys,

I have just noticed that my passengers front door panel speaker is giving off a bit of distortion when

    bass hits the speaker.

Im guessing it's the speaker cone but im not sure if this can be fixed or if it needs to be replaced.

The car is just over 1 year old and I find it hard to believe that the speaker has already given up

on me when the factory system hardly gets cranked i.e. go over the 30 volume setting on the factory head unit!!!!

I was hoping to get some feedback as perhaps it could be just a matter for me to take off the door panel and have a look at the speaker itself as it could be just the wiring.

    Cheers all

    :)

  6. Hi Guys,

After my unfortunate incident with an electric gate not picking up it's sensor and scratching my rear passenger door, I had the rear door reprayed and have only just noticed over the w/end that in strong direct sunlight the freshly painted door skin looks like a darker black in colour.

I wasnt sure if it was just my eyes or if it was the way the black metallic paint reflects off the sun and light

I was hoping to get some your thoughts and feedback especially from the guys who have a black stivo and have had it reprayed. This way I can set my mind at ease! :D

    Cheers all

  7. hey disturb3d,

great to hear the stivo is back on the road and all was fixed to perfection :D

just out of curiousity, how did the resprayed panels come out as i have recently had my rear door sprayed in black ink and i have noticed in direct sunlight the black looks a little deeper in colour when compared to the original factory front door. im not sure if its because of the way the metallic reflects against the sunlight as i know it produces different shades of the black in different light.

apart from this though, u cant even the door was resprayed when looked at in other conditions.

  8. Hi Guys,

Well with just over a year of ownership of my Sportivo its time for it's deep down interior clean.

I have previously cleaned the leather seats with the good ole Meguiars foam cleanser and conditioner

    and this works really well.

Its time for the dash, door panels and other little bits and pieces to become super shiny.

Ive also gotta try and get rid of those yucky scuff marks from the drivers foot well and door kick panels.

Any help, thoughts and recommendations on what kind of products to use would be great!

    :D

    Cheers

  9. Hi All Toyota Owners,

Just a heads up I took my car there for service over the weekend got it back with 5-6 deep scratches down to the plastic around the front of the car.

I called them about it and the service manager said to me " we have honest guys working in the service department I'll ask the guy that service your car"

Calls me back and he goes" No he said he did not scratch your car"

    F#ckin cunt5

I checked with Toyota Australia and they said I can take my car to any dealer for service without voiding my 3 year warranty.

So do yourself a favour Sydney toyota owner go somewhere else.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune there Gazoom but I know exactly how you feel......

With my recent 10,000km service I have all 4 wheels rotated and what I found on the front back left hand side alloy wheels were scratches where the nut holes are. They have obviously used a bigger nut bit to take the wheels off and as they have triggered it off it has shaved off the metal surrounds of the wheel nut holes :angry::angry::angry:

  10. My stock muffler wasn't painted

maybe a picture to show us what you're talking about exactly

the back end of the muffler is painted a charcol/almost black matt finish.

all sportivo's factory mufflers are like this.

Some 05's are sir. My factory muffler is chrome. 03's were unpainted I think, 04's were chrome, and the 05's were predominantly blackish I think.

thanks for the clarification dude :D

  11. Hi Guys,

After cleaning my car over the weekend I noticed that a little bit of the paint has come away from the

back end of the muffler exposing the metal.

Being the perfectionist that I am I just thought I would get anyone's feedback in firstly asking-

    1. Is this normal even though the car is only 1 year old

    2. Can you patch it up with the original paint colour? If so how can I find out the mufflers exact colour?

I thought by patching it up it might make it look worse and more noticable with a fresh bit of paint on there.

Hope im not being too fussy here as I know the exhaust heat does tend to peel off the paint but i thought i would have a couple of more years before this would happen as I have seen older Sportivo's which look good as new!

    Appreciate anyone's comments.

    Cheers

  12. Hi Guys,

I have just noticed that the plastic under guard on my front left hand side wheel is missing a black plastic clip to hold it firmly in its place as its currently a little loose and I can see that the hole for the clip is vacant and the clip has gone walkabouts.

Was just wondering if anyone knew of and could reccomend the best place in Sydney (im guessing a Toyota Spare Parts dealer) to get this small part from and roughly it's cost.

    Cheers

    :D

  13. Hey HIROLA,

I did some research for a 2005 Sportivo Front Lip/Spoiler late last year from Sydney Toyota spare parts dealerships

and below are my findings as this info would be quite useful for you :)

    - 2005 Corolla Sportivo Front Spoiler lip is already painted and colour coded

    - Cost $1170.40

    - Specifially imported for South African manufactured vehicles

    - PART # 0815412841C1

    - Notice the C1 at the end of the part number...this determines the colour of the front spoiler lip. In this case, C1 is the code for BLACK

    Cheers

  14. they run a cd on a computer and it tells them what to mix in a jar. usually they replace the door skin so when you get the car back check the seals are put back in properly and check that they sprayed all the edges because sometimes you can feel a dry edge where they only bothered to spray the surface. you may find that they bolt on the door slightly different position that original they may line it up better than how the car was assembled from factory.

This is correct. I replaced door skins daily back when I was an apprentice panel beater. Give me all the boring jobs lol. All the other guys were fitting kits etc. B@stards lol

Is it a tedious and patience kinda job bADboYz?

As kcorro mentioned - the finish can come out better than when assembled at the factory

Thanks heaps for your detailed info kcorro. It was very informative and is also good to know the behind the scenes details.
