  2. The guys I used have done many eManages, but on turbo cars only, which is half the problem I reckon... it really does look like they haven't done much to the car... the slopes of the power curves are identical with only a small bump at around 4k rpm... No .gsc file unfortunately... With 96.5kW on a hub dyno, we're probably talking 110-115kW at the fly? So what power should I be aiming at with my mods? Anyway, the purpose of this was to figure out whether it was worth taking my car to another tuner, so I guess the answer is YES!
  3. Hey Guys, I took my car to Revzone in Nunawading a while ago to install and tune my eManage, but not sure if they've given it a good tune or not (they said they're used to F/I cars only). I've attached my dyno sheet for reference. It's from a hub-dyno. Not much of a gain, although I've verified through my mechanic that the ignition timing has been advanced. The car is running on BP Ultimate. Mods are CAI, 4-2-1 wildcat extractors, 2.25" exhaust, Sportivo (droopy tip) muffler. The lighter line is before and the darker line is after the eManage. It looks like the engine is still making power all the way to the redline, but torque is dropping off. Is there anyway to smoothen out the torque curve, especially in the mid-range, through tuning? Is this the limit with my mods?
  4. Keeping the stock muffler, I put a 2.25" mandrel-bent catback system on and I felt straight away that the car was more eager to rev... felt as if the stock exhaust had a blocked nose and I'd just put some vicks into the engine... I drove the car with that for about a month, then installed a set of Wildcat 4-2-1 extractors... With the extractors on, I noticed more engine sound when revving, but no real increase in power or 'revability'... I then went and installed a Simota CAI system... With the CAI, the sound under WOT is amazing... sounds almost like a boxer engine above 4,000rpm... a nice faint burbling... but definite drop in power between 1.5krpm and 3krpm.... this was later confirmed by my dyno, which I did when I installed my eManage, which fixed it right up... So there you go... hopefully this helps you make your decision on what to do with breathing mods.... remembering that the stock headers are a specific tuned length etc etc etc.... you want to be careful with what you put on an NA car... 5. Hey Mario, Please take me off the group buy list coz I've already picked my set up from Jules. Thanks buddy.
  6. hey rudy can u paint my black please? :D how much will it cost? cheers mario My respray is covered under insurance, so not sure if the panel beater will charge me extra to get other things sprayed... wouldn't be more than $100 though (which is what someone on another post said they paid)... I doubt it'd even be anywhere close to $50... Respray will probably be on Thursday, but dropping the car off on Wednesday, so will ask then...
  7. If anyone wants anything painted in black (ie, Corolla black), let me know and I can probably get it done for you cheap (my previous post explains why).
  8. PM'd Sorry, didn't get your PM. My inbox is not full either.
  9. Hey mate, Any chance you'll be able to get the grill and eyelids by next Monday 6th Feb? Reason I'm asking is because I'm getting my front bumper replaced and re-sprayed on Wednesday 8th, and it would be a perfect opportunity to use the left-over paint for the grill and eyelids... If you're able to, count me in for the group buy and I'll pick them up from you on Monday. If not, I'll go get them myself this weekend. Oh, and does the grill come with wire mesh? Or is just a big gaping hole?
  10. I was told an eManage is overkill on a Corolla but I recently went ahead and installed one anyway... I have yet to get through my first tank of fuel, but to give you an idea, here's an indication of how much it has helped: I have done 460km using BP Ultimate and my fuel gauge is halfway between 1/4 full and 1/2 full... this includes frequent driving with the air-con on (hot spell in Melbourne at the moment) and lots of +5k shifts (I just installed a power mod afterall)... I'm estimating at least 550km before the red light, which equates to roughly 7.3L/100km... As far as tuning your air-fuel ratios, I would think an SAFC is enough... I went eManage coz I thought I'd get a lot more power as well as fixing the a/f, but I didn't really get that much in the end... Rudes
  11. double din u'll still need spacers on each side as i have one installed. toyota make their headunits bigger and unique in size for some reason :( u won't find one on the market that'll fit in perfectly. that's why toyota sell them spacers/butterflies for about $15 each. ← Stock Double DIN single CD player on Corollas require spacers on either side... The 6-stacker from the Sportivo doesn't require spacers, as I found out when I swaped my Stock single CD to a 6-stacker....
  12. My driving style: Changes at 3,000rpm with frequent trips into the >4,000rpm range... My 1zz-fe: On BP Ultimate I have averaged 7.5L/100km over 3 full tanks, and I plan to go another 7 or so full tanks so I can obtain a statistically significant sample :P Previous to BP Ultimate, I used Shell Optimax and only managed 7.9L/100km (although that wasn't a properly controlled study), so I plan to revert back to Shell Optimax once my 10 tanks of BP Ultimate is up....
  13. My pre-facelift foglights take HB4...
  14. I went to Revzone for my eManage, but the service was pretty lousy... to cut a long story short, I'm still waiting for an install after they promised me they could do it a month ago... Danz, can you please post details of Meridian Motorsport.
  15. That's riding the clutch heaps right? Coz even when I try slipping the clutch in I get wheelspin from 4,000...
