  1. aaand toyota still wins with its fist gap arch :P -_________________-"

imo that blue led on the emblem should be red :]

The blue bit on the emblem aren't actually LEDs lol. That blue flame is an identifier of Lexus & Toyota hybrid cars. Aftermarket companies offer them in other colors too.

  2. Just tinted my head lights last night. I am a little bit scare of driving it out now. I brought two rolls from ebay for $26 includes postage. One is light black and one is dark black. Was planning to dark tinted the tail lights and light tinted the head lights. The dark black just too smoky, I give up and only doing the head lights. I don't want to pull off the road and get fine.

I like the light smoke film on the headlights. Has that nice, subtle look to it.

  3. Huh? Are they out already??? Could have sworn i saw a truck carrying new Aurions that looked slightly different to the current Aurions go past me. I thought they were due out in March?

Yep, they're out. Couple of dealers in Perth already have demonstrators available for test drives and such.

Hmm... Looks like I'll need to drive out and have a look.

  4. Hi All,

My December 2004 plated Kluger CV 7 Seater (owned since new) which is under a Novated Lease is going to end in 6 months.

It's done just over 100,000kms, and is completely stock and has been serviced regularly by Toyota.

I have close to $5K left in my Novated account, which I don't really want to get refunded. I am going to keep the vehicle, and thus would like to spend the money on the vehicle. Under the rules of the lease, I cannot use the money to increase the vehicle value, but I can replace existing items through "wear".

Can anyone recommend items that would be worth replacing? When I spoke to the dealer at the last service they couldn't think of anything which would need to be done in the near (12-24months) term.

I was thinking maybe K&N panel filter, suspension....?

Would appreciate any suggestions/ideas. I'm located in Adelaide, so if anyone can also recommend businesses that would also be great.

    Justin

Maybe look in the TRD USA parts catalog and see what they have for the Highlander (US Kluger.)? MIght be easier to find parts from the US as they share the same 3.3 3MZ V6.

For suspension/handling parts, I'd recommend looking at the Japanese yahoo auctions. Might be able to find Japanese-spec genuine Kluger specific accessories too. Engine parts might be an issue there though, as the Japanese spec Kluger only have the option of the 2.4 2AZ Four cylinder & 3.0 1MZ V6.

  5. Looks like Australia & New Zealand will be getting the Kluger (Most likely the next-gen model.) from the US. Would be interesting to see if they will develop the Hybrid model for RHD production.

Toyota is struggling with the rising yen, so much so that the automaker has been shifting vehicle production outside of Japan. That's bad news for laborers in Japan, but it works out in favor of the American workforce in Princeton, Indiana.

That's because Toyota has announced that it will hire 400 more workers and spend $400 million to ramp up production of the popular Highlander. Toyota plans to ship off the extra production to buyers in countries like Russia and Australia. The plant expansion and additional jobs will enable the Princeton plant to crank out 50,000 additional Highlander models each year.

Toyota plans to complete the upgrades to the Princeton facility by late 2013.

  6. Looking at the model code on the TRD Parts link, the kit is a for a Crown Royal/ Athlete. I guess the module itself will still work, but the new inidicator might not fit without modifications (Or not fit at all.). I guess one could do decals for the +/- symbols (Like the TOM'S kit.) and stick them on.

  7. Now, it's the BRZ's (Subaru) turn.

Three grades, slightly cheaper, compared to the 86.

Not sure if this is unique to the BRZ, or if the 86 also has this frameless interior rear view mirror. The BRZ also seems to be better equipped compared the 86 (e.g. HID standard across the range & no missing interior trim in the RA.)

  8. Are you talking about the digital speedo? Because the needle can go to 260 km/h in that shot ...

I meant the analogue speedo. Had a look at pics of other new released JDM car speedos, and most still seem to read up to 180KM/H (With exception of a few, such as the JDM Suzuki SX4 & 2012 Lexus GS.). Probably for aesthetics I guess (Like how the Proton Satria GTI's speedometer reads up to 260, while the actual top speed is 204KM/H.).

  9. One of my hobbies include viewing Japanese automobile commercials & promo videos. I guess some might find it as a weird hobby. heheh ^_^

To start off, came across a TV Commercial & Promo VIdeo of the Scepter (JDM-spec, US-built Camry) on YouTube while going through my daily stint of Japanese TV Commercials & Promo Videos.

  10. I could be wrong, but aren't the TRD headlights smoked chrome like the Sportivos?

EDIT: Just realized you were planning to mod them. The mid & top-spec SE Asia Camry come with HID headlights, so it will be a nice upgrade. Also, have a look at the Asian Camry Hybrid headlights (Facelift-spec, but with hybrid blue highlights.).

  11. For those who watched Amagami SS, the second season (Amagami SS+Plus) airs in two weeks!

On another note, finally got around to watching the last episode of The Idolm@ster. Enjoyed the 'Ready !!' & 'Change!!!!' Special Edition Remix in this episode. :toast:

I soo must get the LE version of Idolm@ster2 off eBay when I'm back down under.

  12. Chinese/ South East Asian Camry A.K.A Aurion launched in China. Available in three models; Camry (2.0G/ 2.5G/ 2.5VN/ 2.5Q), Camry SE (2.0S/2.5S) & Camry Hybrid (Flagship)

Will be interesting to see what Australia's Aurion Sportivo will look like (Either a slightly modified SE bumper, or something unique for Australia.).

  13. Toyota Signature Class Imports= Reconditioned second hand JDM (They do near new cars too.) Toyotas with official warranty. Would love to see something like this if the Aussie market ever opens up (Not likely to happen, but one can dream I guess.). From what I can remember in a car magazine I bought 9 years ago, the cars are picked by Toyota Japan, then shipped to Toyota in NZ.
