  1. In the case of the PS & PS2, they need to have a mod chip installed to play import games.

I wish my old PS brick didn't go missing. I miss playing the J-NTSC version of GT2, with the Japanese-market car names and nicer in-game soundtracks.

Oh yeah, GT4: Prius Trial Version is another one to go for, it's basically GT4 Prologue, but with one car (2G Prius G Touring Selection), one track (Tsukuba Circuit) and a Prius Promo Video. These were originally given out by Toyota dealers in Japan at the time.

  2. 2012 Camry Hybrid caught in the nude!

Looks like the JDM-spec Camry will be more in common with the South East Asian/ Taiwanese/ Chinese Camry (From what I make out in the teaser and leaked Japanese photos.) and what we might/ will get as the Aurion. Seeing that the Japanese & US Camry will have different front ends, I wonder if there still will be Japanese-built US-market variants.

  3. Was really bored, so I covered the window frame area (Not sure what it is exactly called.) in black PVC tape, the exposed paint area bugged me since day one. Not perfect (Tape wasn't wide enough. Had to do another layer to cover the exposed edge on the other side.), but will redo it with wider tape when I'm back down under.

  4. That's actually the WALD Sportsline kit. Notice that the car is RHD and the headlights (JDM-spec pre-facelift Corollas have a slightly different headlight design.). Oh, and the European license plate is a decorative item (Used in the product shots) btw. WALD make kits for European cars too.

Also that car has the 1st facelift model's taillight (2003 - 2004. There was another facelift for the Japanese market in 2004, before the ZRE came out.).

  5. Basically a Prodigy with Sportivo features (Mainly body kit, smoked headlights, clear taillights, three spoke steering wheel), Carbon fiber interior trim, two-tone leather (With white stitching.) and Pearl White paint for $,3500 extra.

No interior pics for this version though, even on the Toyota website.

  6. Congrats on the new car. Parents also drive a W164 ML320CDI, basically the GL's slightly shorter cousin (One of two units special ordered in Silver/ Beige color combination in WA at the time.), and they love it to bits! Same year too! I'm sure you'll really enjoy your car. Wished ours had the extra leather trim on the doors, like on the GL & Edition10/ facelift ML-class.

Call me nerdy, but I always love how the car goes 'ding' every time I put it in park. heheh

Oh,and here's one of the ads in the US.

  7. On my relatives Camry Hybrid, the high beams are run at half power as DRLs (Required in Canada and some parts of the US. Most manufacturer have them as standard, but can be disabled.). Not sure what's involved (Not that good with the technical side of things.), but I guess you could ask the US Toyota forums. Bright, not blinding like high beams running on full power. That's another option, but I'm not sure if this is legal or illegal down under. On some cars there, the front turn indicators are also used as parking lights, & DRLs (This is probably illegal here, as I don't see Aussie-spec Chryslers/ Dodges with this.).

Option 2: Turn on parking lights/ low beams manually. It's free, though that means having your taillights on. (Yes, me a cheapskate. :P )

  8. Mmm... I like the CELIS LED tail lights. B)

Will let my friend know about this (He's considering a Yaris for 10 grand, but for $500 more, and being a larger car, sounds like your Corolla would be a better deal.). Hope Stirling isn't too far lol.

EDIT: Brain fart lol. Saw $14.5k as 10.5 (Was half asleep.). Still, I'll get him to have a look at it (Not too high KMs, one size up.). :)

  9. well imagine you have a car with normal keys in the ignition and the motor is running..if a thief gets in it and drives it away its the same thing..i think keyless or with a key its best not to leave the car running and go for a walk :P

From what I can remember on ClubLexus a year or two ago, once the smart key is out of range, the car can't be restarted once it is switched off.

  10. Hi guys,

Just brought in my car to the Toyota dealer for the 80,000KM major service, and told them to have a look at the abnormal fuel consumption issue. Coming back to the dealer, they traced it to two faulty sensors out of the four oxygen sensors. Now, the dealer wanted $600 each, excluding labor (Ouch! The service itself costs me that much!).

Was recommended by a friend to go for Denso 02 sensors (Seeing that they supply to Toyota, and will last a long time, since it's an OEM part.), but couldn't source them from the local Repco (Guy who served me wasn't sure if it was universal, car specific nor the brand.) or Supercheap (They only carry universal sensors.) outlets.

Did consider eBay, just that I'm worried that I might get the wrong part of I get it off there (The invoice only mentioned Bank 1/ Sensor 2 & Bank 2/ Sensor 2, which was of no help for me.).

Picture below for reference, if that helps.

  12. Here's what supposed to be the first official photo of the 2011 Highlander/ Kluger. The updated Highlander will be sold officially in Russia & Ukraine (Markets where grey US/ Canadian-import versions of the Highlander are popular.) and make its debut on the 25th of August in Moscow.

NOTE: What Autoblog refers to as 'turn signal repeaters in the mirrors', those are actually the puddle lamps (They turn on, as you unlock the car.). You can still see the fender mounted indicators (Not mandatory in US/ Canadian-market cars, which could explain the confusion.).

  13. Just finished with detailing my Ravioli, after three days of cleaning it up! Feels nice to start the week with a clean car. :)

Agreed, but to spent nearly 1/2 a week cleaning it the first place? Talk about keen.

I once got so smashed I decided I would clean every nook and cranny of my car with a toothbrush, and polish every bolt. When I awoke the next morning my intake manifold was in pieces and I couldn't find my air filter anywhere :s

Heheh, didn't give my car a proper wash since last month, till I bought a new hose attachment last week (The old one cracked after 6 years.).
