  1. Hopefully someone replies seeing as this is an old thread. Did u happen to sand back the engine cover before you put the primer on? or was the primer sprayed straight on the plastic after the wash?
  2. yeh they are aftermarket rims, if the hub is the centre part ur talking about well, of 3 tyres the hub is stationary and stiff, i cant spin it, but on the 4th tyre is spins. it doesnt seem like i can tighten it or anything. ive tried turning it closewise for about a minute and nothing happens.
  3. hi guys, My steering wheel shakes like a mofo (04 corolla sportivo) but ONLY when im at 110kph, any slower or any faster and it doesnt happen. One of my mates with toyotas in his family recons they do the same thing too at 110kph. (toyota prado and 99 corolla) any thoughts on why it happens at that speed and not just at high speeds??.................very confusing....lol
  4. Thanks plenty guys, ill go this weekend and see if they can fit it even though i got the bigger battery. Btw heres a pic of it with the bigger battery
  5. Well there shop is right next door to livo exhaust.they do headers and stuff. Ill prolly end up getting them to do it as even looking through the forums i still have no idea :S lol. i more want it for the sound anyway. My concern is, my factory corolla battery died and i replaced its with a 600cca batt which is slightly larger. maybe an inch wider, i had to customise the battery bracket, will this affect the piping positions for the CAI?...................please say no
  6. Just rang liverpool exhaust. CAI Price $280 $350 Fitted Brand is hurricane. Just curious as to if anyone has bought their CAI from there and if it was any good at all. sound wise and performance. Price seems alright but i really dont know much difference anyway.lol
  7. I Did the mod yesterday, u dont need to solder. Autobahn sells red LEDs with the resisitor already attachted to them. they require only a little modification to fit (unbend the join on the original green globe to pull it out of its socket, and then just do the reverse with the LEDs to fit them in) Autobahn sells them and they come premade with the resistors already attached. Close to perfect fit and the colours come out bright and spread evenly. Also without even having to mod the LEDs you can get one to fit perfectly into the ashtray globe socket. (p.s still trying to figure out how to change the globe for the cigarette lighter socket and the little square lights above the aircon, rear dimist, front windshield and recyle air buttons.) Just thought id ad that incase some of you were worried about changing behind your console...............i broke my first globe lol
  8. All you need to do is unbend the connections on the original globe through the lamp holder and slide the globe out. Then do the same with the LEDs (pulling it out of the red lamp holder/base it comes with) and customising it to fit in the original lamp holders.
  9. Just took these photos now. These pics really dont do the console any justice. ALL the buttons are as bright at the display screen, and the red looks very close in colour and brightness as the passenger light. And the ashtray light, theres no need for me to take out that green plastic because the red shows through it pretty well still. Once again, will show better pics soon. including the led i used. (at the gf house atm with her crap camera.lol)
  10. Yeh happened to be one led short cause i busted one. will post pics asap. I changed clock/temp/fan speed/ display screen and lower buttons except one side. and the ashtray ( the ashtray was the only one i didnt have to modify and the red still shines through the green piece of plastic thats at the back of it. Colour came out very well, bright and no spots, the light its blended well looks as if it was done factory. All the globe i replaced with led red ones from autobahn. requires minimal moding to change them to fit the factory globe holder. will try to post pics when completely done and how to mod the leds as well. :D p.s no need for coloured sleeves and no soldering required as yet, i dont fell like changing the little lights over the air con button ( you know the little square sections.
  11. Update : went autobahn this arvo, picked up the globes, they had red led replacements for them that fit in the original sockets. alls working, very nice.lol. now i hope those same red led replacements fit into the console backlights, saves me having to put condoms over them.lol
  12. Hey again. Took off the console this arvo and pulled out the globe, ITS TINY.lol. it looks like a wedge type, didnt appear to be blown even though its not working(i hope its still gettin power and the wire isnt damaged) anway i might give dk smith or jaycar a go this weekend, see if they have any. As far as wattage wise i stil have no clue, i tried switching the direction of the globe around in its holder, still no light. anyways thanks for your help. :D
  13. Had the same/similar problem with my last car. It was fine when driving but as soon as weight shifted as when i went through a round about or i stop a lil suddenly it would almost die or cut out. It turned out to be the fuel pump.
  14. U referring to gettin my hands in to grab the light in the ashtry right? not the cigarette lighter itself! Do you happen to know what globe it is?
  15. Hey guys, just a quick question. I dont understand the concept of the CAI. Whats the difference between getting a CAI for my Corolla sportivo compared to jusr re-routing the pipe to the airbox. so that instead of it coming out of the air box to behind the headlight, it might for example go to underneath the car picking up all the air flow that travels under the body.( in direct line with the front of the car) They both have that air flow sensor, they both have the air filter so i dont really understand whats the big difference that makes that bit of more power with the CAI>???? Hopefully those with the CAI can enlighten me :D Thanks
  16. 2004 Corolla Sportivo BP Ultimate Or Caltex 98 Octane 540 kilometres a tank and then the fuel light kicks on. Moderate driving, with a bit of lift on the weekend.Plus alot of traffic stoping during the week
  17. Hi guys, hopefully someone out there has had the same problem. I just noticed that the little globe in my cars front ashtray doesnt light up (04 Corolla Sportivo). Just curious as to how i would go abouts taking it out (does it twist, pull out ....???)what sort of globe is it, (how many watts and such) and do i have to rip off that grey plastic cover I know its such a minor issue but as i want to do the red console mod soon, i was going to change that green plastic bit in the ashtray to red and i need a working light lol P.s ive tried and ive tried and i still cant take off the damn cover for the interior light. (wanted to put in those lil led ones that give off a white light) Anyways, once again thanks for your help :D
  18. Just to revive this post, i now own that stivo, psi at 35, there aint no bouncing, handles pretty decent i recon for stock springs, getting changed to sports ryder soon though, looking at cusco strut bar atm.
  19. no worries thanks for that guys :D :D
  20. Thanks for that guys, much appreciated! :D :D btw, are the stock rear speakers 2-way by any chance, cause sthrathfield car radios has got sum cheap deals atm. pioneer 6" 2-ways 160w peak for $39, just to replace the distorting stock rears.lol
  21. Hey guys, been searchin the forum, i can only find how to remove the front door trim in my 04 corolla sportivo, any ideas on how to remove the back door trim? P.s if i connect underdash neons to the cigarette lighter wires behind that light up that green ring so that they come on with the headlights should i use a relay?( i noticed that the wiring behind the cig light are quite thin)
  22. Allo, when i bought my car it was already tinted (2nd hand car). The tint looks very well done and as far as quality wise it looks great (done by tru-tint/tru-seal i think) anyway, my question is that i dont think the tint on the car is dark enough so is it possible to tint over existing tint or will they have to scrape off whats on there already (possibility of scratching the windows maybe??) and redo it, is it even possible at all? Just curious if any one has had any experience with retinting at all Thanks guys
