  1. Spotted blue pre-lift stivo with open grill, black light mod and lowered on rims in carpark in west ryde yesterday. Plates were white with "BEE-92G"
  2. Hey thanks for that, but im still a lil confused. From you explanation are you saying that if you were to install an amp rear/front splits that you would run speaker wire all the way to the doors instead of going to the head unit and using the factory harness wiring that runs to the doors already? (it must be a pain to do neatly) Also, u say 2mm, how can i work that out, everything i look at is like 24/0.2mm,......or 2x79/0.2mm Now i know that 24(no, of strands) 0.2 (thickness of each strand) but if i multiply them i get 4.8? it that nearly 5 mill? (my maths isnt the best atm.lol) Also, you reckon you could use house cable? cause i got a ton of 2.5 mm2 twin lying around.lol
  3. Hi guys, i was thinking of putting the front two speakers in my sportivo to run off an amp. I took the door trim off and the factory wiring looks small that goes to the speakers, so my thoughts where that i was going to run the speaker cable from the amp in the boot to behind the head unit and join the cable into the originals going to the speakers (not bringing the cable all the way to each door.) My question is, what size cable should i buy seeing as the factory wiring is pretty slim already. Jaycar happen to be selling a 30m roll of (so called heavy duty) speaker cable which is 18AWG 24/0.20mm, they state that its suited for systems above 150watts. (to what its limit is, is unknown) Im running 6.5/6 inch sony in the front 200wat peak, 75wat rms and the amp in the back is a 2 channel 300 wat rms amp i think. (obviously i wont put it over the top and end up blowing my speakers.lol) Will this size cable suffice? or should i go bigger. My thoughts where also that it should be neater to join into behind the head unit seeing as the 18awg is not such a thick cable. What size cable have most of you guys run for you front splits to the amp and any suggestions on install would be helpful Thanks guys :) P.s i tried searching already.
  4. First toyota IVE owned Is 2004 Corolla Sportivo (had 2 crappy fords before that...........both broke down.........) Mum has late 2007 corolla accent (same shape as 05+ not the newies) and Dad had an 1984 Hilux dual cab hilux jacked up....the odo stopped at 480,000 kilometres and it still kept going with no oil leaks or anything...........too bad the floor rusted though.lol......nothing a bit of fibre glass couldnt fix.lol Ill stick to TOYOTA :D P.s my brother gets his licence soon and is looking for the old 1990 100kw seca hatch at the moment.lol
  5. Hey guys, i bought 3 litres of castrol sytrax, and got my gearbox oil changed. My mechanic only ended up using just UNDER two bottles,(trustworthy mechanic mind you, he knows what hes doing) he drained out the old and filled up the new as much as he could and just ended up using ALMOST and i mean ALMOST 2 bottles (maybe 10ml left) Its true though, i did notice that it doesnt seem too well suited in the cold, but when its warm it feels alot better than before the oil change. One question though, i noticed that lately its been hard to get into 1 (once completely stopped), and most of the time i either have to roll the car a bit to get it to go in or clutch it again. Is it normal for the sportivo boxes? or have my synchros had it from the last owner? P.s when you guys do hit lift, what revs do u most commonly bring it to? nothing to do with gearbox problems, just out of curiousity on how you treat your car. Thanks guys
  6. Thanks for that, so its as simple as unscrewing them, and then screwing them back in when im done right?
  7. That looks so wrong...(puke) lol The feet look pretty detailed though!
  8. Hi guys, i tried searching for this, but only found info on modify the rails in the case of putting in racing seats. That is not my question.lol I just wanted to know, if i want to remove both my front seats out of my corolla sportivo for various reasons ( easier to put my system in) can i just undo the bolts that go through the rails, into the floor of the car. Are those bolts screwed into a Pre-threated hole in the base of the floor or is there a nut underneath that holds it all together that i would need to reattach from under the car when putting the seats back in? Hope its not too stupid a question Thanks anyway
  9. Hi guys, i was thinking of finally buying the grill off ebay, so before i did, i tried taking the factory grill off my sportivo first. I undid all 3 screws AND IT WONT BUDGE. I tried pushing, sticking my hand behind the grill and trying to bend the clips down (even though it seems like theres about 10 of them, big and small) and nothing, I cant push the grill forward/out the slightest bit, and im afraid of breaking the front bar part that wraps around the edges of the grill even though i was pushing HARD. Was it usually this hard for you guys that have changed your grill or and im just not doing it right? Any help and advice would be much apprieciated. Thankyou

  11. Spotted a stock white pre-facelift stivo with cannon muffler at bellvue hills today, in front of the shops. Guy got out to get lunch, wearing a fluro orange vest.
  12. Mainly because after reading the topic on the cai numerous times, i still had no idea on how to put it in, but also cause i get warranty and the guy at the shop knows exactly how to put i in, instead of my guess work.lol Plus as i said before, (my thoughts only) i dont think the trd cai would have fit with my bigger battery, and its a diff red, i suppose i could always pull out the pipework and spray that.
  13. Hey guys, finally got my cai from livo exhaust......the sound.......mmmm, to hear lift is one thing, to hear it scream that loud is another i dont think i want an exhaust anymore and the power, she feels so much quicker and torqier.lol. Well anyway, heres the engine pic, engine covers half painted, i still have to spray the badge. I dont think the trd cai would have fit anyway due to me have a larger than stock battery, and even then the guy had to spin the batt terminal around. Tell me what u think of the colours, im kinda going for the red n silver/chrome look, hopefully get the inside the same as well.
  14. Thanks guys :D Might try it this weekend. or go wreckers at least
  15. Hi guys, ive read that the normal corollas rear sway bars are a touch thicker than the sportivos. My question is, if i were to swap my stivos bar with a normal corollas would i feel any diff.at all? (due to mum having a normal accent corolla .........it might accidently get swapped over.lol ) or is it just worth forking out the cash and going proper? Thanks guys!
  16. I just got a CAI from Liverpool exhaust. Sounds f-ing amazing, car feels alot quicker........oh and did i mention the sound.lol. It looks like ***** but i dont think the trd one would have fit anyway cause i got a bigger battery than stock. Heres a pic. p.s i still need to paint the badge.lol I paid $350 installed
  17. Anyone know how to change the globe in the cigarette lighter socket????
  18. Na soz guys, count me out, might get springs done first. Ill prolly end up getting livo to do it. at least i get warranty and they can install it for me.....im a bit of a dope. already read the guide and still confused as &*^(.lol
  19. whats the diff between getting a trd one or getting one at liverpool exhaust? i still cant understand how to fit it?.lol there both just a pipe with a sensor and filter at the end.....please enlighten me! before my rego comes and im broke again.lol

  24. I found that septone plastic primer at supercheap, it says the colour is grey, am i right so far? and can the spray used after the primer be normal colour spray out of a can or does it have to be heat proof paint like the stuff you spray onto your caliper due to the cover being over the engine?? Also does anyone know how to spray metal as in if i were to change the cai piping colour?
