Speaking for myself here,(others might share the same view) I had a choice between a 99 wrx running 16pound which was cheaper or the sportivo....and i bought the stivo. At the end of the day, how often are you really going to race your car (safely for that matter too. at the track) I bought it cause its cheap on fuel and its fun when you give it that little squirt every now and again, its not trying to be a 10 second car, just a fun little run around to enjoy and be comfortable in. Like someone said in previous posts, if u want a performance car, buy a performance car from the beginning. You buy a corolla with the knowledge that they are a reliable, comfortable, economical car to own. Im not saying not to mod your car, go ahead like everyone else has on this forum but keep in mind that you'll never get your moneys worth back. Do mods to it that are worth it, that will benefit your everyday driving or weekend cruises like suspension, braking and that little bit of power gain (cai,exhaust) thatll make the car feel a whole lot better than stock. Dont waste your money on supercharging if your gonna be an idiot and race the streets, youll only end up losing your license. Enjoy the car as it was designed for, not what you want it to be. (expect alot receive little, expect little receive alot!!) P.s not that i dont love your car xoom, that things a beast, but youve done things the right way and responsibly.Not just some quick 10 second thought.

oh, forgot to mention, i got dimming because im running two 12inch pioneers off 800watt rms monoblock.lol I already upgraded my ground wires, all to 4awg, notice a touch of improvement, but then again with two twelves hitting bass notes it kinda fcuks all things up.lol

Caps are really a waste of time. In reality there another drain on your cars alternator. People all have different opinions, for my case,ive already upgraded the battery to a 600CCA 11 cell batt (reduced alot of H/L dim)and i still get a bit of dimming, using the caps a CHEAP way of fixing it as it does reduce headlight dim but not in the safest way.(not that your ever really gonna notice any problems occuring) ,just from an electrical aspect. Its just a quick discharge battery that the alt has to keep charging as well on top of the normal car battery which strains your alternator even more so. Remember your stock alternator was only designed to run the electronics that the car came with, with maybe a little more such as phone charger. Thats why when u got aircon on and interior lights, the car dims even more. If you got the money to waste and a little bit of dimming, it might be worth buying one. Otherwise go the BIG 3 : Bigger Bat, Bigger Alt, and Bigger Cable from the alt to the battery which is the proper way to fix headlight dim but a whole lot more expensive(which is why alot of people buy caps and lack of educated info). BTW im a sparki Hope i helped....btw.so many people are gonna disagree with me.lol

Ey guys, one of our family friends the other day bought a brand new nissan tiida (dont ask lol) anyway, her fuel guage was faulty a week later, with a full tank the needle only went 3 quaters of the way on the guage. The guy at the service dept said this can happen if you leave your acc. on when you fill up. (because everybody does that) Anyway it got me thinking, seeing as i bought my sportivo 2nd hand i noticed that my fuel light comes on about 2 bars/lines above the E sign, which i think ends up usually having 10-15 litres left in the tank, just curious if this is normal or my guage is just f'ked. Thanks

Seeing as noone has replied yet, my only thoughts are that on my old car when the pads got too low the abs light came on and also my brake fluid which i thought was full (as the fluid was on the full mark) wasnt, supposebly my mechanic put more in so that it was a little higher than the mark because as you go around corner it would (for lack of a better word) slosh around and cause the abs light to pop up as well.

I dont even use my dome light or reading lamps cause i dont want people looking into the car when i get out ( i know i seem a lil paranoid.lol), its more of a rice factor thing, i want a red led/globe so it matches my interior.lolz But i took a photo of the reading lamps anyway, hopefully that helps. As for talking about the licence plate bulbs, i cant figure out how to change it due to me having a try the other day and finding a peice of metal bar in behind one of those plastic pull out bits on the boots rear cover. right side is all clear, left sides got something in the way.

Hi guys, I just wanted to know what size are the reading lamp/globes and the interior dome light/globes in corolla sportivo pre-facelift? i popped the covers off but would have no idea on how to measure them. Seeing as i want to buy led replacements off ebay or similar they have stuff like, 38mm or 41mm for the dome light n so on. I looked in the manual and all it states is wedge based globe and such which really doesnt tell me much. Thanks

Lif its boring??? wtf???..........dont get me wrong, everyone loves turbo, but theres something about hearing that 1.8 screaming its little ***** off then all of a sudden hit this burst of power that its been pushing to reach. Turbo to me feels like cheating, its so easy to get power out of a turbo car and everyone expects alot from them, but to get a n/a and do some work to it, its something to be proud of, especially with the wtf look as you screeeeaammm past at 8000rpm!

Lift is like an orgasm.......only its your foot having all the fun. Pre-face lift doesnt have anything to do with the engines lift. It relates to the shape of the corolla, 01-04 in the sportivos, after that they upgraded the front end of the car, eg. different grill, headlights with the tear drop.refered to as facelift.
