  1. Black stivo is his sisters, blue one is his
  2. The owner of livo used to be but last i spoke to him he said he doesnt go on much anymore.
  3. Westside Mufflers in Padstow; I had mine done a couple of months ago, drive in and drive out. Very happy with the result. and by the sounds of it CME-LFT did the same and is happy as well. I also went to liverpool exhaust before getting anything done and spoke to a guy there who has a sportivo. said that his custom headers were better than porting stockies. they were long 4 into 2 with 2 flexes then into 1. he also said that the stock 2zz engine has smaller than 2 1/4 exhaust, so his ideal set up was a 2 1/4 as he said its bigger than stock and that 2.5" is too big and loud. I still decided to get the stockies ported the same as everyone else. Yeh i got my cai and cat back from livo exhaust only AFTER reasearching this forum and listening to experience opions off fellow members.(i thought he would have more experience since he owns 2 which i dont think he really does) The only problem with liverpool is that i dont trust there opinion too well. He recommended 2.1/4 cat back as 2.5inch was quit louder and that it would lag down low and seeing as most on this forum have good result with 2.5inch i chose that in the end. (no lagging problems, it is a little loud at times but i dont mind, a change of muffler would help that i guess) When i rang up for his custom headers he said again that due to them being a bigger size they would cause lag down low, now i dont know if his setup was mostly made for top end power but designing something like that isnt too good for the normal street car that most owners go in to beef up a little bit. Also he said that with his setup on his (cai, 2.1/4inch cat and headers) he was pulling 122kw atw. which i think might be bull. But thats just me experience, in the end Im happy with the mods that are done so far. I spoke to the guy at westside about porting the head, he said its not really worth it unless your doing cam work/internals, now seeing as my mechanical knowledge it pretty limited i was curious as to what the next approach would be in beefing up my car beside the computer as i would like to do that last once all mods are done and i only need to tune it once.
  4. Well guys i got my stockies ported at westside mufflers in padtstow yesterday. Very happy with the product. Better take off (less lag on take off) also more power through the revs especially 4-6grand. Lift seems a bit quicker but havn't really pushed it too much to see how big the gains are but the car feels alot better overall throughout the rev range. Very Happy. Thanks for your help guys. All thats left to do it computer and that should keep me happy for a while :D
  5. Hi guys, ive been searching for ages for a model as well AND FINALLY FOUND ONE. I happend to go Kiama the other day for the weekend and theres a model car shop up there that sells them. He had 3 base model pre-facelift left, (red, blue, white). Scale was about the same size of a matchbox car,(maybe a little larger) but he wanted $40 each for them (bit of a rip off i reckon.) If they had a black one I probably would have bought it,.......man i wish they had a sportivo version, even a levin.
  6. Dude how did u do that pic? is it two of the same photo only in one you had the bonnet open and then you just played with the opacity on the bonnet until the underlying photo showed through?
  7. Trying to be unbiased, although they both look nice, i think they wrecked the foggies on the facelift, there just round and dull ,no offence. My only other thought is that its easier to tell a modified prefacelift from up the road compared to a modified facelift as the pre-lft has more changes over stock, e.g. the eyelids cut the look of the headlights by half as does the grill. making the facelift look a little like a normal rolla until up close.
  8. By factory tuned, do you mean the factory headers that come with the sportivo?
  9. Thanks bks, i also spoke to xoom who recommended porting the stock ones as well. Any exhaust shop (of decent quality that is) should be able to do this correct? Is it something that requires them to know the specifics of the 2zz to know how much work needs to be done to the headers or is it a basic thing that they should all know how to do pretty much?
  10. Hey guys, westside mufflers quoted $450 for a swap with Stock ported headers( i hand mine in, they give me stock ones that have been ported), liverpool exhaust quoted $600 with custom made (mild steel) headers. He reckons the custom ones are bigger. What should i go for? ported stockies or aftermarket ones that are larger, all im worried about is will i lose power down lower in the rev range due to the custom ones being larger (I already have cai, and 2.5inch cat back) Your opinions would really help guys, and anyone with experience from buying there products would help (btw i know that a forum member had bought aftermarket headers from livo and they cracked, but ive been told that they've added an extra flex in them since then.) Thanks all
  11. Back to the poll for a sec, its good to hear that most people hit lift at least once a day, makes my car feel not so thrashed.lol
  12. Hi guys, i know this polls probly been done before, but I was just curious on an update.
  13. My cars always seemed to come to me, always just after i had stopped looking for a car. Could never find the right one for the right price, give up looking, 2 weeks later BAAM. they pop up :D
  14. That kids got waaaayyyy too much time on his hands.........but i like :D
  15. When was the last time you got your power stearing fluid flushed?? My mechanic mate saw how black my fluid was, obviously the previous owner had never changed it, bought the car with 67k now with 88k and just got it done last week. Anyway, he works at bridgestone so he did a proper flush (drain the old stuff, put in the new) OMG didnt realise how stiff my power steering was BEFORE the flush. Feels like a brand new car now and i thought it was smooth before. They got some machine that forces the old stuff out through the lines while pumping in the new fluid. Also he put in 2 bottles of additives during the process, one was to clear out all the gunk in the lines and one during the refill which protects the steering pump. If you havnt done the flush in a while (recomended every 2 yrs i think) then pay the $90-100 and get it done properly, totally worth it. Btw if your curious as to the quality of the power stearing fluid, lift the lid up and let it make droplets into the fluid container, it should be a sweet looking red, like red cordial.
  16. I dont know what sort of job you do, but depending on what your average kilometers a week are, maybe its worth going the tida, u dont have to worry about clocking up the ks on your sportivo and general wear and tear. Plus with the tida as u get mainantence and petrol included, nothing stops you using the tida for shopping (short trips at least so the boss doesnt realise youve used the fuel card 5 times in the same week.lol) Maintanence is all covered so if u drive it like ******* it doesnt really matter. The money you save on petrol (whats your yearly average like $3-4k of petrol a year) plus oil, filter and such, like i said it all depends on how much your going to drive for work. My 2 cent worth at least
  17. I usually notice the car goes slower depending on weight in it including amount of fuel in the tank, also did u have your air-con on and not realise? And colder nights it obviously goes harder. Depends on the freshness of the air, or at least thats what ive noticed.
  18. Ok guys here goes my stupid question Rang up a few exhaust places to do headers/extractors on my sportivo. Ok, im a little confused. livo exhaust has got headers.....which i understand are know also as extractors right? Anyhow I rang westside mufflers in padstow and the guy says theres 2 options, porting the manifold with the stock parts or gettin the celica part, slightly modifying them and putting them on........please explain cause im a little confused. -Extractors are the same as headers, just with a different name, yes? -Is porting the manifold the same thing as porting the heads? -And is porting the heads a seperate car peice to headers/extractors or is it the same thing? Cause at the moment i have 2.5inch cat back, and wanna get the front part of my exhaust setup done and its all very confusing to me. -And from what i briefly read, its better to get the stock corolla sportivo headers/extractors/manifold ported than celica parts right? Sorry guys to sound like an idiot, but im sure i posted in the right section
  19. Hi,i know this is an old thread, but the connections to the ecu should work regardless of what shift light/brand you use correct?? Also i did not understand what u meant by You want pinouts 2, 4 and 19. Pinout 2 = ground (white/black); shift cable – black Pinout 4 = ignition (green/blue??); shift cable – black/red Pinout 19 = tach signal (black); shift cable – black/blue Pinout 3 did not have a wire, so make sure you go on the pinout, not the 4th wire along. You say pinout 2,4, and 19, so where did pinout 3 come from?? And isnt pinout 4, the fourth wire along??
  20. Havnt u guys seen my avatar? Good job btw!
  21. Oh man, sorry to hear. my heart junk sunk. It was such a nice stivo. Insurance wont cover enough to buy another one?
