  4. Whats the difference between going to a larger cca battery compared to getting one of those yellow top deep cycle batteries?
  5. I fit a big ***** 600cc falcon/commo sized battery in my stivo, required a little modding to the battery bracket but as far as space was concerned it fit fine.
  6. Changed all my headlights to white lights, and leds for the parkers. Damn are the parkers a pain in the butt to get out.
  7. When you sacrifice fuel economy and performance for the sake of adding one more sub!
  8. When autobahn's main source of income is YOU!
  9. Very well done! Its funny how the dial lights don't turn out well in picture but are fine to see in person :). -Azza Focus on a dark spot first so the camera adjusts to let more light in,then once its focused and while still holding the button half way aim it towards the dials. the lights should then come out brighter when you take the pic.
  10. Do they roll out the metal wheel arch or is just whats underneath? and if done wrong will it end up cracking any paint?
  11. Hi guys, just a quick question, atm im running pedders equivalent of king lows all round (not an even ride height all round) Now the tyres im running are 215/45/r17 and i get some scrubbing at the front around tight turns regardless of going fast or quick. slow is alright though (like normal speed slow). Its only rubbing the plastic guard ever so slightly but sounds freeking loud when it does rub. I think the rims are +42 but not too sure. they're lenso apex-5 My question is that this weekend i want to change the rear springs to superlow to even out the ride height but im worried with the tyre profile that i wont be able to drive my car once its dropped lower. Anyone with experience? Will it rub worse at the back or should be about the same, i know superlows at the rear even out the ride so therefore the clearance between the wheel arches should then become the same as the front correct? in theory it shouldnt scrape cause the rear tyres dont turn right? Please dont say change the rubber as they are still pretty much brand new.lol. Thanks guys
  12. You spend $5000 on a car system just to drive 5mins to the shops, but deal with crappy mono speaker on your 147cm plasma tv at home. You keep old speakers and amps and subs and headunits for those "just incase i need it" situations. You constantly buy new speakers and amps and subs and headunits that there really is never a "just incase i need it" situation. Your car has so much technology (dvd/gps etc.) that NASA called you up last week for ideas on what to put in their next space shuttle. Pimp my ride is based on your car. Your insurance company doesnt know about your car stereo otherwise you premium would jump up 10x Your car stereo is worth more than the car
  13. Any photos on how to take the whole assembly off. The whole thing seems really confusing to do. i understand what needs to be done, but getting there to do it in the first place does my head in. So obviously the crows foot doesnt do jackall.....no point in wasting my time then
  14. Id be interested in wingtips and also the rear eyelids, but would need to know method of payment first.
  15. Not really, i found that i quite liked the position as its not a shift light which i really need to notice, plus the fact that its a fairly bright gauge i think it wouldbe distracting if it was any higher.
  16. Sorry to ruin this, but i picked up one of these for $12 at repco the other day!
  17. No, the ashtray is still brand new, never been ashed in once, and the cig lighter has never been used either. It measures voltage, why the need, more for rice factor than anything else, and i was curious as to how much it moves with the subs and such going off. Volt guage moves, especially with the subs going off. I noticed that itll sit around 12-12.5 volts with car off, 13v with car idling and moves to 14 when driving, until subs kick in thens its swinging from 14-13 like crazy. I think i paid around $60-65 from SCA. Like i said, i searched ebay and even though theres a few fancy ones, i liked the quality of this one, and i msged a few ebay sellers for the depths of their units, and most of them where over 6-6.5 cm long which didnt give me the clearance i needed. Yeh they where green its a 2004, i changed them to Red t-5 LEDs. Theres a guide here somewhere on the forum how to do it. pack of 5 leds cost like $10 at autobarn, theve lasted for a while now. I heard a few say that the cheap ones off ebay always blow. I was thinking of installing another gauge but got a little excited and just wanted it done lol. And it was a simple install with the wiring. Most likely ill put another guage in later, just have to remeasure again as space is tight. My first install i drilled the gauge hole to the left so i could modify it later but realised when i went to put it in there's little tabs that stick out on the side of the ashtray space. If you look at yours youll understand what i mean.
  18. How about save yourself the hassle and get it done properly, it cost me $90 at bridgestone to get done!
  19. Hi guys, well i got bored and have been wanting to install a volt guage for a while without knowing really where to put it. So over the weekend i went supercheap and bought one of those calibre volt guages. I chose it cause it was the shortest 52mm volt guage i could find and space is kind of limited. 5.5cm clearance behind i think it was. You could probably fit two guages if you wanted. Just wanted to know what your thoughts where and if i did good? I just used a bit of clear perspex, taped a centre line and sprayed over it with chrome paint, then wired it directly to the cigarette lighter. Theres a red t5 led behine that was used to light up the ashtray previously. In the light photo the silver i spprayed looks completly different to the original sportivo console silver, but in face to face it looks pretty close. The guages seem of decent quality and the blue breaks up all the red with the console, dash and shiftlight while still keeping that red needle. Anyways i would like to hear your thoughts so thanks all. :)
  20. I smoke in my car and i noticed that a good spray of glen 20 into the airvents (from the outside) and the fan on so it sucks the spray in usually keeps the car smelling nice for a while.
  21. CME-LFT No. Plates CM3-1FT, should be quite obvious, ( see me lift ) but mum thought it said "centimetres, 31 foot"! :(
