  1. no doubt if you find a good car from an auction its a wonderful buy, but when you find something below average it hurts. Theres no gurantee on them and no test drives. Luck of the draw most of the time.
  2. they don't have the over drive button any more right? they had it on the previous model camrys, corollas and avalons. I think the shift to the dog legged selector gate eliminated it, or the automatics are just smarter. <_<
  3. i have an old one, 99 corolla. Gets around 9.2 - 10 L/100kms. And i fill it up with the cheap (still quite expensive) and nasty fuel you find at coles n safeway.
  4. i feel it's just been a facelift, rather than a whole new model. The Engine is the same!!! Its now heavier, but roomier. At least it's now fun to drive from what i have read.
  5. they also sell it in japan, its called the mark crown something or other, why not here?!
  6. but i feel it's really risky purchasing one from an auction. Sure they are cheaper. company cars are the worst treated ones, being floored to redline on a cold engine. No sense of care or pride when it's not your car right?
  7. Also camrys don't have any major problems, hence the lack of action. Look at the camry's brother forum(aurion), almost every 2nd post is about problems.
  8. its kind of hard getting excited about the camry, my avalon is as dull as watching grass grow but i love her for being so darn reliable. And engine so smooth...
  9. don't forget it needs the quality petrol, not that cheap nasty stuff at coles
  10. its funny that all the slow drivers hog the right lane.
  11. speedo margins are in favour of keeping your license. Anyway, just put up a sticker on the dashboard to remind you that 67km = 60 and so forth.
  12. thats like my avalon as well. On cold mornings its sitting around 2000rpm. Also the fuel consumption during the first 2 mins are incredbly high. Around 20L/100kms.
  13. it's smaller than an aurion. For me the aurion is a bit too big, so many would see it as a camry competitor. In being a rwd car, many falcodore drivers would finally deem it as an actual alternative. IF they imported i would be the first on the waiting list.
  14. SUCH LONG WAITING PERIODS!! One day (when my trust avalon dies) then maybe i will consider Aurion. :o
  15. hows the ride quality? I guess it doesn't really matter now, you would be having too much fun going around corners.
  16. the only car that i consider perfect for me is the toyota reiz. While i was on holiday in china, i was often the passenger in my uncle's reiz. BOY IS IT SMOOTH! A 2.5 V6 (the same one in the lexus IS250) mated to a 6 speed auto driven through the rear wheels. It's a mid size vehicle, nothing to big but it does weigh quite a bit (around 1700kg), but all in all its the perfect car. Now i believe that if Toyota imports the Reiz they might have a real winner here.
