  1. If the plans go well according to time, we expect to pass by at approximately 10:00am. We can swing through but we wouldn't be waiting for long so we can keep on schedule. I had to just 'clear some space' so I can get a peaceful sleep.
  2. Twas a good meet today. Shame about the sketchy weather for those expecting Queensland sun, but this is Queensland after all and these things change just like that. A big thanks to Steve for allocating the venue to us and Shaun for organising the venue on the day. Also a big thanks to those there that were involved with organising the charity donation BBQ for us which provided a large supply of food for everyone. Also a big thanks to Meguiars and Liqui-Moly for supplying the prizes for the Show & Shine at a very short notice. As well, a big thank you to everyone who attended and helped to make this all possible.
  3. Just thought I would start this thread to house all the photos and videos that have been taken throughout the event. Looking forward to seeing them guys.
  4. It's not too late to add yourself to the dinner guys. I booked on a loose number saying to them that we can expect between 25-35 people. I just wanted to get numbers so I can let them know if there is going to be much variation in that. Those familiar with the venue, we would have the entire left section of the restaurant. It won't be one large table, but we will be at tables of 6 or so. We're grouped together so all is well.
  5. I managed to fish this photo out taken of my old pre-facelift Sportivo SX6. You can make out the same bar if you look closely. It seems it must have been something fitted to the Sportivo's and TRD's:
  6. I've never had condensation smell like burning oil which is what the OP has said. Not trying to say this isn't the case, but the OP did mention when it is cold and by the description "after work if she didn't go anywhere for lunch" would lead me to think she doesn't mean climate cold, but the engine being cold.
  7. This is completely normal. This is part of the recirculation of the PCV (Positive Crankcase Ventilation) system. Instead of me trying to explain it, it would be better to have a read of this if you want to know more: Crankcase ventilation system (Wikipedia) If you are that picky about it, you can fit a catch can in-line with the hose involved in this but realistically, you don't have to worry.
  8. Not in Queensland mate. Not that it matter because we'll be sensible anyways.
  9. If you can't vote, just let me know the count and I'll factor it in. I only added the poll late last night so it probably hasn't been seen by most people yet.
  10. Sorry for the late reply. I was down on my side cleaning my side skirts before getting to the underbody and say these two and though "Oh s***. That's right". So I took out the camera. Is this what you were referring to: I take it the AT-X does not have that brace on it?
  11. Well I have Thursday and Friday off work so I may as well do something with my time. It will kinda be like a fresh start again with her.
  12. Hey guys. To make it easier for me to give a slightly more accurate head count to the guys at Hog's Breath, I have created a poll to give me some rough figures. I ask that you please place your votes by this Friday morning so I can update them on a rough count. Thanks. That's pretty much why I enter. But I will contribute and be on display as such, but no-one can vote for me. I have now created a schedule for my cleaning. Aimee currently sits clean in my garage waiting for tomorrow. At that point it shall be something like this: Thursday 8:30-9:30 : Clay 9:30-10:30 : Application of Sonax Xtreme Wax (requires immediate buffing) 10:30-11:00 : Lift front of car onto jack stands, remove wheels and clean thoroughly and apply Nano coat then wax. 11:00-12:00 : Thoroughly clean the front wheel arch area including brakes. Will apply Disc Brake Stop Squeal while I'm at it due to current issues. 12:00-13:00 : Chillax 13:00-15:30 : Remove splash guards from under engine bay and clean as much as possible that I can there. 15:30-16:30 : Refit brakes, wheels and drop car back down. Car will then be used for various duties unfortunately. Friday 8:30-12:00 : Lift rear onto jack stands. Clean wheels, etc just like the fronts. 12:00-13:00 : Rest 13:00-15:00 : Clean engine bay to best of abilities. 15:00-17:00 : Clean interior thoroughly. Friday night meet will then occur then. 23:00-23:30 : Give car a gentle quick wash to remove road grime. 23:30-00:00 : Apply layer of Bowden's Own Auto Body Wax. Leave on overnight. Saturday 06:00-06:30 : Buff off wax from the evening. 06:30-07:30 : Lift car and give a quick wipe-down to anything that may have gotten dirty.
  13. I won't be entering the Show and Shine, but some part of me wants the car spotless. Nebo on Friday is going to mess it up. Shotgun front
  14. Ahhh. Tis what happens when you get really anal about your car . I respect your dedication though because I have lost mine. After my movie tonight though, it will be up on jack stands and I will be cleaning out the engine bay and attempt the underbody.
  15. So I have just picked up the trophies for the Show and Shine. Such excitement that everything is getting close now. And yes Evan... there is only one Torque Toyota in North Lakes.
  16. Two more sleeps till the fun begins guys and girls. If you weren't planning on attending, it's not too late to change you mind. We hope to see you there.
  17. Each to their own, but I think it looks tacky.
  18. We never got around to organising that one this year unfortunately.
  19. I play Words With Friends.
  20. I can't believe the meet is at the end of this week. Everything is all starting to come together now. Go-karts are now all paid in full to Kingston Park Raceway. This means that 15 places are definitely reserved and anyone else that wishes to join in will need to pay on the day with no guarantees of availability. As it stands, for those in the reserved 15, this is what is left owing. Payment can be on the day, or any time before hand if you would like to get it out of the way: 1) mick.wheelz - $51.50 2) Andrew357 - $51.50 3) RedSportivo +2 - $174.50 (deposit for third person not yet received... thus included in that amount) 4) Hiro - $51.50 5) jamole1 - $51.50 I also have confirmed a booking for dinner on Saturday night at Hogs Breath Indooroopilly. I will try to gather a more accurate figure on the Friday/Saturday so I can call them before we get there so they can make adjustments as required. Also spoke to Steve at Torque Toyota North Lakes. He unfortunately will not be around there for the Show & Shine, but he has been so kind that he has organised for a sausage sizzle and cold soft drinks for the event. So make sure to show your appreciation for the helpful staff there on the day.
  21. For any of you local guys here (maybe even interstate if you are keen) that have not yet ventured outside of the "Corolla / Corolla Sportivo Club", if you are not yet aware, this coming long weekend is the: TOYOTA OWNERS CLUB AUSTRALIA - 2011 ANNUAL MEET More information on this even can be found by clicking here. So if you are free on any of those days, make the effort to come see us and be part of the event. We hope to see you there.
  22. If it rains heavy, we didn't really set alternative location. The cars are going to get wet one way or another in that case so we won't move the Show and Shine to another location. We will just have to work with what we've got and re-arrange plans on the day as requires. No gazebo's or anything like that because realistically, it's not cost efficient because we would have to hire them regardless of the weather because conditions can change at the drop of a hat. Relax.
  23. He sure did. Andrew did the dealings with him, but from what I heard, he was a top bloke. $655 for the rotors, pads, re-drilling, and hub rings.
  24. You mean this problem?
  25. Haven't heard from you in ages mate. T'was Mick and I checking over the cruise route for next Sunday.
