you'll noticed those are plastic hub rings essential for use on after market rims as they don't quite fit over the hub. What that would mean is that your wheel studs (where your wheel nuts go over or whatever they are called) will be supporting your wheel and that's a big no no......

You don't need to snap the ashtray bulb to remove it.....
Just pull it outwards as its a T5 sized wedge. It might be a tad hard so use pliers if your weak

I've used ryco filters for about 10 oil changes or more .....
No problems.
Or you can try the autobarn drift oil filter. A bit exy at 20 bucks a pop.....
Only upside is its got a magnet inside it. If you ask me, kinda looks like a K&N rip off. <_<
