  1. Is this still going ahead? Do we have 10+ people yet?
  2. The 9 spokes are classic and still look really nice. My gf has a shadow chrome set on her silver Ascent! Although, as soon as you fit rims your going to have to lower it! As for eyelids, there were a set on ebay recently fairly cheap, there are always eyelids on there from time to time.
  3. yeh need more facelift white stivo's! :D Go the minority! Facelift white stivo's!
  4. Is a sway bar (front or rear) easy to fit to our Corollas? Or is it something best left to a pro. Also, is it something that is going to require a wheel alignment after fitment, such as changing springs etc? Thanks.
  5. Put me down for a set of black Sportivo front throwovers or failing those, just the regular TRD ones. If the Sportivo ones go ahead, i'd prefer if the logo wasnt excessively large as they might look abit "****ish" if the logo is huge. Maybe have it the same size as the badge on the car.
  6. Depends if your willing to go out of your way for all this man. I'm sure we'd all understand if you didnt want to chase something like this. Could be abit of mucking around. I'm down for a set either way.
  7. OK so are these Whiteline ones any better than the TRD ones or vice versa? Or are you just paying extra for the TRD badge? Also, what colour is the Whiteline front strut brace?
  8. So what are the final prices? There are prices mentioned at the start of the post but then some other talk of different prices as the post goes on. Interested in the front strut brace only. (What colour are these?)
  9. Yep thats exactly what I had in mind when I made the suggestion. Only thing that worries me would be the quality of the job. Nothing against market folk (there are "some" nice people there) but if they do a custom order and it comes out looking crappy, they're still going to insist that they are purchased. Just something to think about... Either way i'm still happy with a TRD set if everyone votes that way.
  10. I'd also be interested in a set of either dark grey with white print or black with white print. Another idea would be to get some done with a custom print which was mentioned. How about a "Sportivo" Logo in the same font as the badging. Text colour could be either white or even Red with a grey, white or silver outline to mimmick the 05 Sportivo badging. only problem this limits the Sportivo printed ones to sportivo owners where as the TRD ones would suit more people here. Just thought i'd throw the idea in the air anyways.
  11. Ok, so are we able to get a pic of the mod that works?
  12. I've heard disabling the beeper also disables the reversing lights as they apparently are powered on the same circuit. Is this true? If not true and the above mod works, are we able to get specific instructions and a pic of the under side of the column? Thanks.
  13. The toyota paint doesnt usually match anyways. Better to have it made up! According to my dealer all facelift onward Corollas won't come with paint anymore. Either that or they kept it for themselves.
  14. Havent seen a specific Corolla sunshade but you can buy ones with suction cups etc which make them hang on alot better. Most are long enough to use your sunvisors to hold them up as well. Most of those things are in resealable packaging and most places will let you try them in the car before you commit. Important to keep your seats regularly moisturised during the summer too!
  15. I called Canberra Toyota looking for them. The spare parts guys said he's never seen or heard of them. He did know about the remote controlled sportivo's but said they were cheap rubbish and not worth $80. Probably only said that cos he didnt have one to sell me... ;)
  16. Yep and the reason your CD player turned off when you tried the headlights is because there was simply too much load on the low battery. Call the NRMA (RACV) if your a member and they will come start it with a safe set of jumper leads. The all you have to do is warm it up and take it for a good run! If your battery was old you might find that it may not fully recover. Perhaps you left one of those overhead interior lights on (the ones above your rear view mirror)???
  17. Hi Guys, Since having my Sportivo since May, I've run on an almost constant diet of BP Ultimate unless theres none around at the time of needing a refuel. During the last 10-14 days i've visited 3 or 4 different BP servo's where I have purchased Ultimate in the past, but none of them have Ultimate anymore. Some servos still have the Ultimate stickers on the pumps with "not in use" signs on them while others have the labels taken off altogether. Does anyone know whats going on? If this keeps up i'm going to be forced onto Synergy 8000 (which actually isn't too bad) or Optimax. Any feedback appreciated!
  18. As far as tyre shine goes, I use the stuff that you gat from Supercheap or sometimes even Go-Lo/Reject Shop kinda places. Its called "import tyre shine" $3-$4 a can and does 4-6 applications depending on the profile of your tyres. Doesnt attract dirt and doesnt spin off all over the paint work. Been using it for years with great results!

    Tinting

Yeah 35% is the legal limit in all cars after a certain build year. Prior to that there were no regulations so you can tint as dark as you like and just claim that you had it done before the limitations were enforced. My last car was DTI Quantum 28% and the Sportivo is DTI Diamond 35% and I honestly feel there is very little difference. The Sportivo seems to stay cooler even with the leather interior. By the way Mickey Tee, I'm in Canberra too. Myself and Two Beers are looking at getting his Sportivo and my gf's Ascent done at Solar Tint in Belconnen. Havent seen u on the road thus far, nor two beers for that matter.
  20. If your a sportivo owner, the smartest thing to do would be to find a set of Seat from an Integra Luxury (current shape) and modify a set of corolla rails. The Integra seats are similar to the shape of WRX seats and they're already trimmed in dark grey leather with perforated inserts. Theres a chance these wouldnt need retrimming at all and would look more factory! I've stuck a pic up in my garage as i'm out of global space in the forums.
  21. The fuel cap is nice! Saw one on Ebay once for AUD$50 and it was brand new. Spewing I didnt snap it up coz i've never seen one for sale since.
  22. Hi Age, Seems Silver hasn't been in to reply yet so i'll pass on some of my own advice (which silver agrees with) and also some advice he's given me himself. For the big routine cleans, user a quality leather cleaner/conditioner like Meguairs Gold Class leather cleaner and apply as directed. (From memory this product is $15-$20). For the quick in between cleans, try white vinegar diluted at about 1:10. spray on and wipe excess off to get the leather nice and clean. The vinegar acts as a cleaning agent without removing any of the oils from the leather. (white vinegar can be had for about $1.50 for 2 litres). See how that goes!
  23. Can we be so picky as to choose the colour of the Diecast models or the Remote controlled units? Wouldnt mind matching my Rolla.
  24. 18's and King lows here. No issues. By the way Silver Rider, clean your inbox!
  25. Its only ever like 20-30 seconds at the most that I have to idle it for. The amount of fuel it would cost to idle for that time is miniscule when considering your cooling the car more effectively than just letting an external fan blow over it.
