  1. Just make sure you use the spacer provided for the battery as they are shorter than the standard battery.
  2. Generally they are counter-clockwise due to being keyed to the camshaft, easiest way to find out for sure is to take the cap off and turn the crankshaft in a clockwise direction whilst having someone observe the rotation of the rotor.
  3. We need to organise something for when Pete comes up...BBQ/Dinner/etc. It will also be Australia Day
  4. It "gulps" in the rear end as well, but seriously I will bet it is that.
  5. Did you read the whole thing or just search for "dash rattles"? Look at: My Aurion makes a clunk / knock sound when driving off for the first time after starting it. Is this a problem?
  6. Won't be out this week. Steve I'll have to give your chair back to you next week.
  7. It will never go away...Read the Aurion FAQ. http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/index.php/topic/19545-the-tocau-aurion-faq/
  8. I didn't think you could even do that. I am used to USA rules where you can do almost anything to a ride. What's stopping you? Just get urself an engineer certificate. It can actually be made legal George, http://www.tmr.qld.g...r_vehicles2.pdf "Airbag or air pressurised shock absorber helper spring may be fitted in addition to the original suspension. However, replacing some or all of the suspension system with an air or hydraulic suspension requires specific approval."
  9. I don't really know any other tradies up here, let alone good ones, but give it a good wash down and grab a can of contact cleaner and go wild on every terminal/connection you can. I that doesn't fix it the you may need some professional assistance.
  10. Not a worry guys, be happy to have you's over any time. Glad the rain held off as long as it did.
  11. Mate you will be very lucky to even find a new set for sale on the market, so I think there will be a very slim chance someone is willing to part with them. But good luck and hopefully has some.
  12. Sad to see Tash's twin (in Aurion form) go.
  13. And that is? At this stage the original plans are going ahead. However if it is raining in the morning, or looks like rain, check here before heading to the LOOP.
  14. I actually worked at the QLD fleet management centre during my apprenticeship and I can guarantee this is correct.
  15. The CT-20 in the Hilux is completely different and is a pretty poor turbo, don't even bother with it. The CT-20B is really just a higher flowing CT-26 but is found on the 3rd Gen 3S-GTE (SW20 and ST205), however, they are EXTREMELY hard to find at all let alone a decent price and condition. To be honest the CT-20B is probably too much for the stock bottom end on the 5S-FE, the CT-26 is plenty big enough to blow up that engine. 7psi is the general safe zone, however, guys have pushed past this with some success. Here's a link with a bit of a guide, check it out: http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/index.php/topic/28580-the-big-5s-fte-post/
  16. There is also the TD05H which I am in the process of installing, that is capable of 22psi on the 3S-GTE. The CT26 and the "CT20B"(which is actually a CT-26) and they both use the same manifold. This is a good turbo for a low boost setup. The adapters are usually only a couple of centimeters thick so the shouldn't be much issue with placement. There is a decent amount of room behind the Gen 5 Celica front bars so there shouldn't be an issue with fitting a front mount, heaps of guys have done it before.
  17. I disagree, I think it is a rubbish idea, this "update" is definitely a step in the wrong direction. Steve really screwed it up this time... Are you baiting? or is it you just being you? It's a forum, how can it be going in the wrong direction? which is the right direction? Screwed up?? really? Mobile version is much better. My opinion, hence "I think", is neither right nor wrong. I don't care if I get hit with more ads since i don't pay for the "supporter benefits", but for the guys who pay and are now getting hit with more ads, is rubbish. If you don't like my opinion John, click ignore, but if you are cool with it, enjoy the rest of your day. ;)
  18. Tomorrow night or really early Sunday, if it looks like rain check here.
  19. IF things turn pear shaped and it does indeed rain we will be going Ten Pin bowling but will be starting later, possibly around 12-1PM.
  20. There are, they even use the Hybrid Camry.
  21. I disagree, I think it is a rubbish idea, this "update" is definitely a step in the wrong direction. Steve really screwed it up this time...
  22. The percentage is the amount of light allowed to penetrate the tinted glass...If the vehicle already has factory tinted glass, the overally percentage still must not be lower than 35%.
  23. Go for it, make it 30% but it's still illegal...legal is 35%
