  1. Go easy mate. As the post title says "A new comer to Australia and I need help"? I think what aklobi was trying to establish was our State and Federal Tax system (G.S.T.). Seems a pretty smart question to me as I have been living in North America for the past 8 months and there tax systems are quite different to home and vary from country to country, province to province, state to state and I wish I had some good advise to help me save some cash. Well done aklobi, nothing wrong with trying to save some coin to spend on more important things like performance modifications!!!!! :) Hope you enjoy Australia! Heheh!!! Yeah hope you enjoy Australia, you will get taxed up the ar$e to the point where you will end up paying taxes on your own sh*t.
  2. I got a comparison graph, wish i had a scanner. The power curve is much flatter at lower rpm's and there is a gain of 1-2kw's all the way until you hit lift, at which point it stays the same then drops of by 1kW.
  3. Thanx to the Opel guys for showing up on time :) and for the people who turned up on a sleepy Sunday morning. E-Gene, mate I am on the sidelines for this, to your car it might be a big improvement, who knows. Every car is different, not by much but all i can say is "dont know" it's your choice.
  4. Today 107kW Temp 21 Degrees , Humidity 73% Last Year 108.2 kW Temp 21 Degrees, Humidity 43% With the exhaust, its a couple of kW up at lower rpm. Last time i had a short ram with a bigger pod and probably better air flow at top end than the K&N Apollo. Not to mention humidity 73%. Power can probably fluctuate 5 kW up or down depending on the day. Last Year I was running BP Ultimate, todat i was running Mobil 8000. Perfect examble is Bill's car, up 4 kW since last dyno with no mods. Once again this result will stirr up the CES debate, wether it is a worthwile mod. :)
  5. really? tell that to the guys at the last dyno day then, including myself.. stock STIVO 102-103KWs Stivo with JUST CAI 110Kws thats a 7kw diff.. which is huge on a highly tuned NA engine Bills car pulled 108kw stock and there were some cars there with cai that were pulling 104-105kw if i remember correct . All the cars that got over 110kw were early 03 models, i think they have different heads and flow better at top end.
  6. The problem with these massive cruises is, you will always find at least one *******, and people get lost, turn off elsewhere and its just too much of a hastle. I'd stick with our Tocau cruises.
  7. I'll be there in the morning to set the scale for the rest of the day...115+kw :D hopefully.
  8. Get them to check the clutch on the air conditioning compressor, the bearings are prone to stuff up, the clutch slips and it makes a nasty hissing noise.
  9. We need another pen pusher to record the figures....any volunteers? Carlo!!! U da man!!! :)
  10. This is going to be bigger than last year :) I'll get there early and organise the parking with Simon etc. And we should have a small photo session with all the cars too.
  11. It's why i decided not to sell mine anymore. These cars will become a collectors item and will keep their value in years to come. With stricter emission laws, we wont see too many N/A 1.8 liter 4 bangers making this power in the near future. Hopefully some day these cars will be known as "old school pocket rockets ".
  12. I think thats a fair call, if you refer to Toyota Australia that is. If you mean toyota worldwide, then you have been playing too much GT4 :). You gotta remember that Toyota Australia will also want to look after itself hence it is killing alot of the sporty stuff available in other countries.
  13. I think the box and engine are from Japan. Thank *** for that :P
  14. Thats what happens. Thank yourself you got a loan car.
  15. Is negatron still in charge of this massive operation :D
  16. LMFAO I love the no hands jump, looks like a gay ad for toyota lol j/k. Had to say it lol :P :P
  17. It's gona weigh heaps, I doubt it's gona be a performance machine, more of a typical marketing ploy to compete against kW numbers.
  18. I totally agree, once you do the oil change over its always the same, its an easy job. For the cash spent on a service you can aquire a few good tools also. The problem is the world is F@cked these days and people are too tidious and dont want to get their hands dirty so they pay, and the dealers trwo you all these extended warranties so you have to service your car. It sucks. I do myown service every 5, and take it in every other 5 so the books are kept in check every 10.
