  1. I'd be up for this meet at Vic Market even though I'm in the TRD buy.
  2. Thanks for that. I'll be seeing you guys there! I'll be the one in the Corolla, keep an eye out for me :P Ah perfect day for washing the car today... *Melbourne Water suddenly see a spike in water usage in Victoria due to us*
  3. So just to confirm. When, and where is this? The first post does not deliver.
  4. Hmm, I'll see if it's worth borrowing an intelligent tester from work to play with injector volumes etc.
  5. Nothing to see here. Move along.
  6. Is the TRD parts buy being organised in the same fashion? Can we also expect parts in a fortnight?
  7. Payment sent to Northy. I guess this makes you my valentine. :P
  8. Ok... you must be getting sick of me spamming the thread it seems. I figured he was from Melbourne when you said it in your previous post, I was more wondering where-abouts in Melbourne, so I knew where I'd have to go to pick up the parts in future. Nevermind.
  9. I don't get to drive my car as often as I normally would because I regularly get company cars for evaluation. It's good regarding petrol, but bad because I love driving my own car. Just hit 8000 km since April 2005 (that's 10 months yeah?).
  10. I've been excited, waiting for you guys to find out about this for a year and a half. Try checking out http://makeyourmove.com.au at 10.00am for a webcast of the launch.
  11. Great work, thanks for the info Silva. Where's Specialised32?
  12. Was something supposed to happen in that video? Here's a cool video to check out; This is real power: http://www.youtube.com/w/Toyota-Supra-Drif...=toyota%20drift
  13. Toyota has a technical centre called Higashi-Fuji. A lot of dynamic tuning and development is done there. Camry suspension tuning for example. This is where my friend drove these vehicles and managed to sneak a look at the new Corolla chassis. I'm just relaying what his opinion was of the vehicle. Comparing peak torque levels without mentioning at what RPM they occur is pretty futile. Your example comparing the 1ZZ and 2ZZ misleading. THe 1ZZ is not critisized for its bottom end for a number of reasons. Such as, it's only about 9nm less than the Stivo yet the peak torque is about 2-3000 rpm sooner. Plus it's not a 'Performance' vehicle like the Stivo is, so you cant compare them. As I said, in my friends opinion, he was slightly disappointed with the performance of the Compressor T-Sport. But then, maybe he expected a little more from a $47,000 vehicle....
  14. I don't know what the deal is.
  15. My mate at work drove that car and was pretty disappointed with the lack of low-end power. He owns an Astra Turbo incidently. So Darren's driven the Supercharged T Sport ? Yes at Higashi-Fuji, as well as the Echo Turbo.
  16. Alright, this is getting ridiculous. I'll nominate myself as the postage place for Melbourne, you can ship the parts to my work in Port Melbourne. If not, can you please give me the details of who you're purchasing from and whether they can do me the same deal.
  17. Can't you apply a cut off? If they're that inactive on these boards that they cant pay attention to their group buy then I think that means they're out.
  18. I've tested a few of those at work. They're a good thing for a couple of main reasons: Completely self-contained unit. Simply drop in the dash and attach the GPS antenna. - no more dvd reader in the boot. The unit now supports a lot more colours, so the maps look nice as do the menus. Plus you get the excellent quality of Toyota's sat-nav. Unfortunately, I was dissappointed that the unit, as far as audio, is pretty much the same. The AVS has a few adjustable preset levels, but nothing extraordinary, and the EQ is the same Treble Bass Mid adjustment. *** I'd love parametric in a stock HU. Anyway, its a good thing, but probably insanely expensive.
  19. -Above, I was comparing the new 4-cylinder to the current 4-cylinder. -The problem with the 380 is that it looks like a Magna. ;) -I'm not willing to give further detail on the Avalon replacement other than to say that it's not an Avalon. -You may be right, I've heard different though. I apologise guys, I'm not trying to stir things up, I just don't want you to be dismissive of the new vehicles before you know all the details.
  20. Within reason, any increase in brake effectiveness you're gonna achieve by going from single to twin piston brake calipers, you could probably achieve simply by upgrading to higher μ brake pads. The trade off is that with higher μ pads you'll possibly get more brake squeal. Upgrading your calipers is probably not worth it in my opinion.
  21. Wait for the Melbourne motorshow. ;) Regarding your question, I'm hesitant to answer on these forums so instead I'll quote someone else: "The American-made hybrid is the first time Toyota has manufactured one outside of Japan. Buttner says: "There was no reason why the hybrid could not be built in Australia." However, the company will wait to see what its acceptance is like in the US first. "It is not likely to be here before 2008."" --->http://carsguide.news.com.au/story/0,20384,17792707-21822,00.html
  22. I'm telling you the 4cyl doesn't feel slower than current model, and the handling has improved greatly. Also, forget what you've seen of the American Avalon.
  23. IZZ's right, you need to practice brake pedal modulation. The idea is not to lock up at all. Locking up is bad bad bad. I'm worried about your tyres.
