Was given a lovely gift from the parents, which was a well maintained 1996 Vienta. It has quite a few K's on the clock, and it's in complete granny spec, but that just leaves me things to work on (pics soon to come). I was curious as to what the modifying 'scene' was like for the camry's, so I decided to sign up to the forums and have a look.

There are parts out there but the scene is not very big. You will need to source a lot of parts from the US.

What mods did you have in mind?

At the moment, nothing major. Get a set of wheels, find some lowered springs. But within the next month, I would like to do a manual conversion, as my dad bought a cheap parts car from the auctions, exact same model as mine, just manual.

Lowered springs can be sourced from King Springs. Wheels are a little tricky as the guards are not very wide; and wide wheels often foul on the struts or sit out too wide.

I've found a set of rims I'm interested in, would you think 235's would be too wide? The rims don't have tread on them yet, will be a bit before I can afford the rubber, any advice would be greatly appreciated here. Thanks.

Anything larger than a 225 will be outside the guards or rubbing depending on wheel offset.
