Hi,

Just brought my wife a 2002 Corolla Sedan and want to upgrade from the standard tape player stereo pictured below.

I thought it would be best to stick to a Toyota branded stereo, as it would fit perfectly and use the same connections. So I brought a new cd/mp3 player from ebay also pictured below.

I installed the new unit and it fits fine, but the radio will not tune in, I just get static. It came from a brand new hilux, and the guy says it worked fine before he removed it.

I don't have all the plugs connected on the back of the unit, just the main ones for power and speakers that were in the car. The others I am assuming are for remote steering wheel control, which I don't need.

Just wondering if anyone can offer some advice as to how to get the radio to tune in. I don't think the unit is faulty, but it could be I guess, but I really don't want to have to try and return it to someone on ebay.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Daz.

where did you bring it from?

there should be a small round single pin plug for the radio antenna you need to plug in.

The cord for it is pretty short so it can be tricky to plug in at times.

Thanks, but the antenna is plugged in correctly. I have even tried a different antenna but with the same result. The radio worked fine on the old unit.
