the comparisons are good i have seen a similar thing that actually gave different results but i searched and search and could not find it.

i think i was talking to someone on this forum about it and someother people - is it true filters don't give awsome performance straight away i thought they had to be revved out a little

some one please clarify this with me. i know new filters give the best filtration but i don't know about the best performance....i am alays a bit dubious of these stuides as they only do 2 trials i don't think that is sufficient to actually give good results. same as with the different bends in intakes.

i just wish the people testing had enough finances to do like 50 trial per filter.

I have a 'green' filter, prefer it over all the rest simply because it stays cleaner and lasts a bit longer than the rest.

My Cold Air Induction is a little different from the rest of you guys though to say the least. I have a pipe going from the airbox down through to the gap below the grille. I get optimum suckage from there, makes sence to me. *** my car sounds so much better and performs so much better having the filter there.

No it doesn't - in Victoria, you don't need an airbox at all. You are allowed to have a dry element air filter (panel filters are dry element, ie. not oiled - A'PEXi pods are dry - Blitz pods are dry - K&N pods are oiled, therefore not dry, therefore not legal) in an open environment, without an airbox.

ok, that's a bit confusing. Your air filter may be exposed, open without an airbox as long as your car is EFI (as with almost all cars since 1990) and the filter is a dry element filter.

PS. HKS air filter might give really good flow, but it has terrible filtration. Not to mention it's not legal to be used in Australia because it's oiled... The A'PEXi one gives good flow and very good filtration.

Another disadvantage of oiled filters is that some of the oil actually ends up going through your intake. Not that great for your engine, nor is it good for performance...
