Nope!!!

But it could be very dangerous if you do neither and get out....

considering that, that is the way you are supposed to do a hill start, I wonder why you think it should pose an issue?

Do you mean like putting it in park, taking foot off brake, letting the car roll that tiny bit till the park brake kicks in, then putting handbrake up?

I need my eyes checked... or a holiday

I read 'D' not 'P'

either way, shouldn't cause any issues, as long as the car isn't rolling at the time.

lol..Well looks like you have have that holiday coming up! :yahoo:

I can't really see any issues either, unless handbrake was left off and some sort of strain put on the park brake? lol don't quote me on that, i dont know crap about gearboxes

it's hardly a holiday...

fly over, spend 5 days at a conference then 3 days travelling... where's the relax time, and don't tell me it's the 40+ hours flight time...

If the car is rolling then you risk sheering the pin off that stops the car, but I'm thinking you'd need to be rolling pretty fast.

Huh what?

I don't get you, I was taught to drive by putting the car into P then pull the handbrake.

1. Stop car with brakes

2. Shift gear into P, while holding brakes

3. Pull handbrake, while holding brakes

4. Take foot of brakes

Ditto

Always put in Park with brakes on and then handbrake.

No damage done
