Hi guys..the 'rolla (06 ascent manual) is still shivvering and shaking when the tickover settles, I asked Lane Toyota to have a look at it when they did the service, with the following result......." the technician says if theres no engine warning light on, there's no problem with your car "

My question is ... if there's something like a faulty sensor, or something similar that would cause a rough tickover, would that cause the engine warning light to come on...??

Any help'll be appreciated...anyone else got this tickover problem ??

 I would be going to a different dealership if that is what they told you.

lol yeah because there's never a problem if the lights are off..

As said above, go somewhere else!

Has your car been serviced regularly?

Are you referring to the revs fluctuating (dropping to 300rpm, almost stalling and rising to 1000rpm then back down again) when at idle, just after the car warms up a little and comes off fast idle?

It seems to be a randomly occuring issue with 1zz cars. I haven't had it happen for quite some time but I've never been able to get any sort of answer on why it occurs from Toyota.
