Hello fellas,

I'm new to this forum and is looking forward to become a regular visitor here. Nice to meet ya all and here is my first posting.

Does anyone currently own a 07 corolla sedan?

I'm just curious if it feels any different from the hatch when it comes to driving.

Also on the stats sheet it claims to consume less fuel compared to the hatch, has anyone validated this claim?

Finally, as I am a casual golfer, I'm wondering if the boot space of the sedan is wide enough for a golf bag? Cos my mum's 06 corolla hatch can not fit golf bags in the boot. I had to split fold the rear seat to load it on, which kindda sucks...

P.S. if anyone happens to own the Ultima model, please share your comment on your ride?

I own an '07 Hatch but also drove the sedan when I was lookin'. To me they drive the same, but thats my opinion. As for fuel consumption, there is not much difference. It will depend on how you drive it. :spiteful:

Don't know much about the golf clubs fitting but my boss keeps calling it a golf cart, maybe he knows something I don't.

I have an 07 Corolla Ascent sedan.

A pic of it!

No idea on the fuel consumption bit, I get 9.1 L/100km, all city driving. However, it should be less under the same conditions than the hatch, as it is lighter with everything else identical.

According to magazines, the sedan is slightly softer than the hatch.

Don't play golf, so I don't know whether it'll fit. However, the sedan has a pretty big boot.

I just got the same car as above. Play golf too. The boot in the sedan is huge. You'll fit your clubs in no prob. Not too sure about getting your buggy in there as well.

Hey dude,

One interesting thing I found when I visited my local dealership. The headlight unit of the Ultima sedan I saw there was not properly sealed around the edge, leaving a small gap between the transparent perspex part and the metal panel. I was wondering whether if it's just that particular car or are all 07 corolla sedans assembled that way?

If that's the way it is, wouldn't water slip through the gap and wet all those electric wirings behinid the headlight unit when you are washing the car?

Sorry, but I don't know what you're referring to.

If what you're talking about somehow is related to the headlights bulging out of their units, well, all Toyota cars and 4WDs these days have bulging lights.

Hi Guys

I'm also a newbie to this forum. Its nice to see a all-Aussie Toyota forum.

Sorry to hijack this thread but it seem the most appropriate place to put it.

I'm interested in a 08' Corolla Ascent Hatch in Auto. I previously owned the 04' Sedan until that got written off.

Still deciding between the Rolla or a Mazda 2. I was hoping to get some input from all the current shape owners:

1) What is the performance like? As I understand, straight line speed is a touch slower than the ZZE series but I get mixed reviews saying the engine is either quite tractable to being lethargic especially with an auto. Manual is out of the question.

2) What is a reasonable driveaway price I should be expecting. In terms of accessories, I'm just after a tint, mats and premium plates. I got quoted (without much haggling) 23k but the dealer was hinting 22k.

3) Ride quality and refinement seem to be its strengths, what about handling and dynamics? This was a key weakness of the old Corolla. I especially like to hear from those who have driven Mazda 3's or Civics etc.

Once again, I thank you all for any input. Cheers.
