Hi again, ... my car got real hot, steam...

but still runs after cool down ok, no water in oil but it is probaly a head or head gasket. since it has a new readiator and stat...form PO

question: as a capable DIY backyard fixer, is the head on v6 doable for me...?

Seems it is a regular thing, should a maybe just tighten the head down,

Why do so many have this had problem, mine has 170K Auto.

Thanks

What's the temp read on the dash? Should be exactly half way. The 4 bangers sit just below half way...

well for the first 5-7 klm it sat midway, then slowly rose to just below red, then I pulled over...

Update; Just put the radiator back in after the shop removed the tank and cleaned it out... he said it was 80% blocked, that they do a lot of 3vz engines with some 200K... so watch for it,

easy to check, warm motor and feel the inside of the radiator fins... should be uniforly hot

just cost $100... lot cheaper than head job.
