Do you bother with Synthetic

Since our cars' 1st 6 services are pegged at $150 each incl parts & labour, would you be bothered to supply your own MOBIL 1? :D

And if you do, what assurance do you have that it will end up in your car ?

:toast: The best answer (response) of 2008!

I don't think I will care, although synthetic is tougher and if you do a lot of towing and 4WDing that it is worthwhile. There is no incentive for me when it is included in the price and they are not going to deduct from $150 when you supply your own oil (or will they???? ). I will try next time I am sure. Now you make me thinking....

You're getting semi-synthetic already, I wouldn't worry too much about going full synthetic. Just check and see what oil your dealer is using (brand, name, spec).

The dealerships Nationally are using a Castrol Magnatec equivelent being Semi-synthetic..When I workd for the Prosser dealership I had a handful of Customers insisting on Synthetic even supplying there own,the dealerships have no quams about using customers own oil (as long as it meets Manufacturers specs) just make sure u dont get charged for there own on ur invoice
