Echo 2004 5 door hatch back

Hi All

Because, apparently, my 2004 Echo has a sign on it only visible to theives, the latest thing in a LONG lines of things to be knocked off it is my airbag.

I have been scouring the wreckers etc. looking for a spare one to buy without the seatbelt package (that apparently it usually comes with) - but cannot find the darkest grey/black one - is anyone able to help me with suggestions for where one might be located?

As soon as the airbag is fixed, trust that I am getting an alarm :)

should be covered by your insurance! if not, go to Toyota. ONLY THIEVES buy JUST the airbag!

I"m not going to go into my insurance details here, suffice to say this isn't on insurance because the claim is out of date, and a long sad and sorry story. Needless to say: lesson learnt! Have called Toyota, and they're a little too expensive. Also they tend to only sell them with the airbag and seat belts - around $2k alone.

Since my car's airbag was stolen by way of the people smashing the rear quarter window, disengaging the battery and taking the airbag out of the steering wheel, I only need to buy the airbag. Thought since you had a wonderful forum here full of people who like Toyota's and a sub-forum dedicated to only the model of my car - ie. Echo, one of you wonderful, welcoming people might have had a tip :)

claim with your insurance.

besides that, if you want to be cheap, you'll get cheap quality. plus you dont want to mess around with airbag. Buying them from a WRECKER or 2nd shop you'll put your life @ risk.
