SV21/VZV21 V6 engines.

I am thinking that the MZ engine on ebay at $1K is pretty good value and I am inclined to try to squeeze one into a VZV21.

Options.

LONG ENGINE and use all the inlet and outlet ports from 2VZFE.

Anyone know where the engine mounts are for VDV Camry's and how the engine mounts might have to be or not modified to fit in a 3VZ engine?

I would like a photo of an empty engine bay from each and see where the mounts fit.

Gearbox issues?

Drive shafts spline sizes and length.

A 3L engine in a VZV would be neat.

If this helps, the 3VZ and 1MZ use the same mounting points. So if one works, so will the other. In the US 92-96 Camry, they used both the 3VZ and 1MZ engines on the same subframes with the same mounting points.

Thanks.

The imported Narrow bodied VZV21 was produced between 1988 and 1992 before the VDV10.

It had a 2VZFE engine mounted in the following manner.

Top left looking from front a cast bracket top right gearbox mount a single bolt.

Front right an engine mount down onto the channel metal support bar.

Left rear the left drive shaft passes through a support bearing which is ina bracket that doubles as the rear engine mount.

As far as the top connections providing the inlet manifolds bolt onto the vee 6 heads or the inlet of the manifold can be adapted to take the inlet air no big deal.

In Australia we have mainly 4 cylinder engines in the NB camry SV21.

The V6 only has the E153 auto box so its the same in both models VDV10 which has 3VZFE and VZV21 2VZFE .

At this stage my 2VZFE engine like from the Lexus is working fne.

Im pretty sure the US lexus also uses the 1VZ and 2VZ but maybe it uses 3VZ/MZ later on but the subframe will be changed.

Thanks for input
