gen 3 indicator noise

sometimes when I just start to put my indicator on, there is a hissing/zapping sound when it hits a certain point ... what may this be from? anyone have any ideas?

Sounds like the contacts are arcing. Sometimes get it on indicator stalks if you aren't positive in your operation, such as using the lane changing mode(non locking)...or similar

thanks mate for the prompt response... yeah that is when it usually occurs, when it is slower indication for a lane change or something simliar to that... so yeah, that would make sense....

so does that mean it is a bad thing, or is it just because its one of those things?

if it constantly happens what are likely to be the repercussions?

Worst case, you'll burn out the contacts and then have replace a possibly very expensive indicator stalk...Best thing is to try and modify the way you use them... ;) ;)

I had/have the same problem again, ive already had to replace and indicator Flasher Relay, bout $30 (non-genuine, genuine $125 :o ). I have an auto electrician mention to me that it could also be a short somewhere in the circuit as well
