Paseo Battery and Amp Question

Hi im new to this forum, i own a Paseo 1993 or 1992 i can't remember with the stock engine and this is my first car.

I was just wondering what is the largest battery i can put in car without apparently "blowing the chipset". Some people say you can put a marine battery in it however i am unsure and it is my first car

My second questions (this maybe a stupid question) is that i am looking for a better altenator as when i run my subs the over head light blinks (this could also due to battery), where can i get one around the south brisbane area.

After i do get the new alternator and battery is there a need to get a capacitor?

My last question is What is the best way to wire up two amps (one for subwoofers and one for speakers), as i am currently running a mono block powering 2 type r alpines, do i run another power wire from the battery or should i get a power distribution block. i currently have a 1200w wire set running my mono block.

Get yourself a decent quality deep cycle battery, 750CCA or higher...

This should take care of the head lights and other electric components losing voltage when the bass kicks in...

I always run 1 power wire and 1 earth wire per amp...

Whatever wires you add off the positive terminal you should do the same for the earth terminal...

Run one earth wire off the battery to the inner chassis rail...

Run another earth wire from the battery to the back of the cylinder head...

Should be much better :) :) :) ...

with the amps, i thought you could always bridge them together? eg ; amp 1 = power + ground is connected with amp 2.

You can bridge power, but I wouldn't risk bridging ground.

Chances are you'll find if you upgrade your earths, you won't have to upgrade your battery or alternator. It's the one thing that most people neglect to do when upgrading their power system.

You could do that but you're not gunna get full power to the second amp...

Yes you will. It's basic electrical theory, splitting at the amp or at a distribution block means both points are at the same electrical potential, and current will flow through them inversely proportional to their impedance ;)

That being said, splitting at a distribution block is still better as it's neater and easier to physically get one cable into each jack (socket? Not sure) on the amp.

Mmmm, I guess that works now that i think about it...

One of my cars had the single wire to distribution block, then running to two amps... Burnt out the fuse holder assy near the battery...

Changed it to two seperate wires and have had no trouble since that...

Two separate wires from the battery or from a distribution block?
