How would i go around to attach neon lights to my cigarette lighter without using that 12v DC adapter? a detailed description of soldering would help alot (what is positive and negative at the back).

CBF drawing a diagram, but depending on how many neons your willing to wire up.

Firstly is the neon connected directly to a ciggarette lighter plug or is it going through a box?

If its only 1 neon that goes directly to the cigarette lighter plug, chop it off. Split the two cores of the cable, 1 will be negative and 1 will be positive. So it will only work if you connect it the correct way.

So you connect 1 leg to +12V on the back of the ciggie lighter in your car, and the other to the - terminal. Try one way or another, whichever way it works, solder it.
