Yes, I have been giving this consideration for the past month. Let me put out for everyone what I know about this auction so far.

1. $2550GBP ($6000AUD) to Australia by the slow boat PLUS IMPORT DUTY (ignore the prices in his auction!).

2. TTE uses the same Ogura TX12 supercharger as Blitz (with considerably less boost at 8psi).

3. An air-to-air or chemical intercooler can be added to this kit (different story with 1ZZ).

4. Supercharger has a bypass valve, and only runs at +10% throttle, +6kph speed, and +28C ECT.

5. Air conditioning pipe needs to be replaced, with gas drained and refilled obviously.

6. TTE Corolla has 8.9:1 compression ratio, we have 11.5:1 compression ratio (thoughts???).

I am thinking of grabbing this kit and doing distilled water/methonol injection for intercooling. But who knows. It would cost atleast $7k if I did the work myself...

Cheers, Gav.

As long as you had no pre ignition problems when you run out of water all would be good. If not I would be looking into air to air or even water to air, if space permits.

That was my first concern. But I have been talking to a Norwegian guy who has just installed the TTE kit in his T-Sport (much the same as ours), and he's been having great sucess. Mind you, he admits to having not have taken it over 7000rpm as yet. This makes me wonder if the stock TTE ECU can retard timing enough to handle the higher compression at higher revs. Otherwise my biggest concern is how something like this would run in 40C QLD heat? The water/metho intercooling seems like an almost must have, atleast with all that added compression...

Anyone care to hazard a guess as to what 11.5:1 over 8.9:1 compression ratio would do to the boost? That 215/225hp is based on the low compression pistons in the TTE. I'm guessing the higher compression pistons will cause more boost pressure in the cylinders and yield more power.

boost would stay the same as its determined buy the pulley size of the crank and supercharger pullies

the higher compression would just mess with the air fuel raito and combustion temps i would say

could be worth getting a copper head gasket to lower compression imo!

for what its worth - i would go with a power fc, tune the a/f ratios to suit australian conditions and the higher compression ratio.

would hate to rebuild a 2zz :)

The higher compression ratio will cause the dynamic compression pressure to be greater than that of the low comp T sport motor. There is no doubting that but as long afr's a kept in check and the motor doesn't ping I can't see you having any problem at all. If you are keen on an after market ecu I would recommend looking into and Adaptroinc, hell of a lot cheaper the an over rated Power FC, can be had for about 1k plus install and tuning. Has the ability to run closed loop vvti and 3D mapping for the vvti as well, also you can loose the airflow meter with the Adaptronic and run a map sensor. Have a look at there web site www.adaptronic.com.au and there forum also, Im sure any question you may have will be answered if you post them up on there.

This is bulls***.... I have a TTE supercharged Rolla, and its just stock 2zz with 11.5:1 ratio ;)

These TTE Corolla just have bolt-on supercharger kit..

Thanks for your contribution. I've since heard the same said about the compression being the same. However, when I looked up the specs, the CR was listed as 8.9:1. So farks me what it really is?!?!?!

Cheers, Gav.

When the going gets tough, 3S-GTE conversion maybe ????
