Hi

Had the AC regassed, and while driving to Brisbane from Sydney, the the carpet was getting soaken wet, even through to the back, just passenger side of the car.

when coming home, the temp gauge hit the red, and car stopped with the engine malfunction light coming on, the radiator was empty, the engine got so hot the spark plug caps have melted in to the spark plug wells, can now only get number 1 spark plug out, compression tested this cylinder only reached 300kpa, the engine is now stuffed, wondering whether the two are related of seperate issues.

going to buy secondhand motor, but don't want to swap until i find out why the carpet is wet, where did the rad water go?

By the sound of it I think it would be the heater core that has corrosion in it, so if you had the A/C on you probably had the temperature setting just a little way from the coldest, leaving the radiator water to trickle through and leak out into the fool well.

you're heater core is catcus!

just so you know... if you can swing a spanner.. this is a great thing to DIY.. as you will find out... when they build cars.. they start with the heatercore.. and build evrything else around it!

most radiator joints will charge 5 hours MIN to replace this part.
