On that same site gravityfreak indicated i found the original report.

You will notice they say

Our 8,58 seconds 0-100 km/h time was reached after much experimentation - it is quite a challenge to achieve exactly the right amount of wheelspin

Then in the other article they get a 7.88.

Both these tests appear before recall. As the first was in march the second in Sept of 2003.

So case closed points proven simply download the 2 spec's sheets linked in the article and print them out to show any sceptics.
