Hi,

I'm planning to install (DYI) parking/reverse sensors for my Altise Camry 2005. Could someone please recommend reliable ones with a reasonable price tag? and where to get them :-).

Thanks!

If you're going DIY, Genuine Toyota ones would be your best option...

Plug into your existing wiring harness, drill the sensors into your bumper bar and you're all done...

with the $700 price tag

Sigh...

Isn't $450 too much only for parking sensors?

I have done my aurion and both parents camry by myself and it only cost about $120 total.

I think I've posted the guide here somewhere long time ago?

BTW, you can connect the power line(for the main sensor unit) to the reverse light from taillight and that's it.

Drill the holes and secure the main unit in somewhere into boot and put the display at the top of room mirror(whereever you like).

Yeah, I've posted the guide before on this forum but it seems like the website is dead now.

I will upload the pics with guide again once Photobucket is back on(it's in maintenance and can't log in) so I can upload all the pics again.

BTW, you can just buy any of parking sensors from Ebay. They may cost about $30~$80?

I would say most of them are all same.

The link below is the thread I've posted before about installing parking sensor on 2004 & 2005 camry

I will update and edit the pics soon so you can have a look.

How to: install parking sensors

The linked post is updated and pics are also uploaded.

the quality of toyota geniune parking sensors are very good. but the price is also not cheap. I think the parking sensors would cost 260$ -350$ just for the parts

however, you could get a good quality off ebay as well, I bought mine from ebay, which is 6sensors with LCD display. guess how much? only 90$ included postage.

don't buy 30$ 4 parking sensors from ebay. its really low quality. won't last long. trust me.

I installed it myself, which costs me around 3hrs.

its all done now..works great. :D :D

After pricing genuine Toyota reversing sensors at $635 fitted I started looking around elsewhere. We now have reverse sensors fitted to our '06 camry for $200. Supplier/installer was SELMAX in Dandenong, Vic. phone [03] 97946222

We are very happy with the job they did.

Regards,

Col

All high quality ones:

this is a seller called SOLDSMART at ebay, don't ever buy anything from him. he also sells parking sensors.. Lowest quality ever!!!!

I wouldn't buy Toyota genuine parking sensors as the price is ridiculous!!!

Ok, so I have genuine Toyota Park Assist (rear) on my Sportivo from the factory.

Now looking to do the front sensors also.

Does anyone know if the ACV36 Camry has an intrusion bar running along the front bar.

Or, as in the pics of the new Camry / Aurion that have front parking sensors (x2) they look to be at the very extremities of the front bar.

Do you think this can be done?

Does anyone have a parts expansion of the front bar area, this will give clues as too how much room is behind there.

(I hope the above all make sense!)

Happy to discuss...

Hi just came across your post when i was looking to get my

parking sensors installed on my 2013 Toyota corolla, and i noticed nobody

answered you yet so just in case anybody is looking for parking sensors for Toyota

Camry i recently had this brand

installed ultra sleek parking sensors when i spoke to these guys they assured

me they were the best available in Australia. So i took a chance and got them

installed. It was one of the hardest

things i have had to do for a while, cause there is so many parking sensors out

there and i have heard so many bad things about them so i was already sceptical

that these would be any different. Well i have had these for couple of months

now and i am really impressed with them, they haven’t let me down once. They

also haven’t false alarmed once, its really funny but when i got them installed

i would actually get my girl friend to go behind the car and test to see if

they were still working.

I don’t do that anymore now i have complete confidence in them now.

I got them from these guys www.ultrasleekparkingsensors.blogspot.com

Hope this helps in relation to good Qulaity sensors
