silly question - if the steering wheel is slightly off centre, does that mean you need to get a wheel alignment? Mine's slightly off and i'm going to book it in for a wheel alignment.

cheers

1) Does the Car Track straight?

2) Do you have equal locks on both sides?

If the the answer to any is no, then yes, you'd need an alignment.

Other, you can just reposition the steering wheel

repositioning the steering wheel doesnt really solve the problem of incorrect wheel alignment, it just makes you think it's straight. i'd recommend getting a wheel alignment every few months regardless to get good even wear on all 4 tyres

it could also be uneven tyre pressures. it wouldnt make much difference, but it is slightly noticeable

however, keep in mind that your steering wheel will never remain exactly centre due to the natural camber of our roads. imo, the best place to test the alignment is on a flat, smooth and straight surface where you can get upto high speeds (eg, a freeway). the majority of alignment problems show themselves between 90 and 110km/h and then fade as speed increases/decreases.
