18" rims

Recommended Posts

Hey guys

I will soon put on 18" rims on my sportivo.

But still a bit unsure about offset, etc..

I You have 18" rims on your sportivo can you please post the specs of the rims and tyres.

pictures would also be nice.

Also I want to know if you have any problems with tyres 'rubbing' against the vender or when cornering if the front tire bumps with the bodywork.

Also add info if you lowered the car or not.

Thanks in advance. This will help me make a decision.

You will be looking at -

18x7.5

+42 offset

225/35/18 Tyres

If you dont plan on lowering your car much or at all i believe you could get away with 225/40/18 with scraping issues.

I have 18's lowered on Cusco Zero 2's.

18x7.5

+42 offset

225/35r18 and no scrubbing, only when i Full lock turning left due to the right wheel arch having an extrusion near the front end.

I don't get any problems other than the slight scrub on the left turn full lock. No touching with tyres on body while hard cornering etc.

Oh another thing to consider is the cost of rubber haha. I'm getting new rubber now and I'll tell you some prices

Yokohama S Drive $390

Toyo T1R $350

Falken FK-452 $310

Bridgestone Re001 225/40r18 coz they don't have 225/35r18 $380

Here are some old pictures. I know the quality is low but it was taken on my N95 lol.

As you can see it's kinda low. That is the factory set height of the zero2's. I'm sure I could maybe go a bit lower but it'd probably scrub before the full lock.

Plus I'm Happy with the height. If you want I'll take a picture of the car with a Can of coke as reference to height.

Hey Snesi

Ive got a set of Lenso GT-6 wheels and tyres at home.

I had them on my 05 corolla stivo for like 3 months or so before i sold the car. Still got the rims.

I have

Lenso GT-6 Black with polished lip.

18x7.5

Offset perfect for the 05 stivo

225/35/18 - Falken FK-452 (practically brand new)

I had it dropped with Eibach rims.

You can have a look at my gallery.

Still have the rims at home. PM me if u are interested.

Cheers...

Thanks for the reply's guys. I can definitely use the info.

One more question tough:

If I only upgrade to 18'' rims, would it be 'harmful' for my stock suspension.

Cause i'm not planning on lowering the car now.

No changing your rims to 18" won't affect your suspension. You'll definately feel the bumps a little more because there is less tyre to absorb it, but that's basically it.

Hi guys,&l

It's nearly a year now since i started this post :P

I did some other upgrades to the car instead of rims.

Now I'm sure I will get a set of rims.

Considering again if it should be 18"

What do you guys think about this rim?

Tyres 225/40/18

asking again,do you guys think this will scrub?

You need to tell us the width and offset of the rim. you should be fine with most offsets with that kind of drop.
