hey all,

just want to confirm before I go out and get some new tyres and wheels.

My ZRE is currently running 205/55/16. im planning on getting 17's....what tyre size should i go to roughly have the same rolling diametre and dont want to do too low on the profile as I want to maintain the decent ride comfort.

would 215/45/17's suit?

also, would a +45 offset rim with the above tyre fit the car without rubbing (i have lowered springs)?

also, what is the wheel nut thread pattern?

cheers

A good site to use if you want to compare the measurements is over at:

Tire Size Calculator - tire & wheel plus sizing

If you plug in the figures, you will see that with the 215/45R17, you're speedo will be out by showing 1.05% faster than with your previous wheels though. With the slight inaccuracy of the speedo though, this wouldn't really make a difference. This tire size is in fact the closest match to the original rolling circumference.

215/45/17 is perfect, no probs at all with mine..

My Lensos were +40 and my Kappas are +45 offset both with same tyre and all good..

Wheel nut thread is M12 x P1.5

Cheers

I got 215/45R17's on my Speedy Lite-5 Gloss black rims with +45 offset.

Car is lowered on pedders springs and no rubbing or any problems at all.

Hope that helps!

you can use 215/45R17 or 225/45R17 with <1% speed difference.

it depends if you want the new wheels going faster then your stockies or going slower and conservative.

but like djkor said above, which ever you choose, there is little difference due to the slight inaccuracy of the speedometer.

lol well im running 225/45/R17 with the offset at 35 :P (off my mates R34) so the rims are closer to the guards but it looks pretty good and they fit so i pretty sure u wont have a problem running 215/225 45 R17 at the correct offset
