i got a cai a few weeks ago and installed it at work, did the usual ecu reset, car runs fine when it starts to get a bit of temp to it BUT after i start it and go to reverse up our driveway its as if there is no throttle response, i really need to ride the clutch out at about 2500rpm for it to get moving otherwise it bogs down and nearly stalls no matter how much throttle i give it, but by the time i get to the end of my street 500m its all good... has anyone had this problem after puttin in a cai with a new oiled filter?, im gonna clean the air flow meter on the weekend but just puttin it out there to see if anyone alse has had the issue...

Didnt over oil it did you? Might have clogged up the MAF. Clean out the MAF like your planning to and have a peek in the TB as well, make sure theres no crap in it.

Most cold air intakes I have had experience with over the years tend to be sluggish when cold.... usually about 3-5 minutes, and they are ready to rock...

it is a K&N filter oiled out of the box, it felt a little too oily when i was puttin it on so yeah that may be the cause.

cheers

Its common with CAI to have sluggish start. Check out chicaboo's thread and threadssssssssssssssssss on them.

Enjoy ..

annoying trait of having a CAI thats for sure...

unfortunately when you disconnect the stock air box you also disconnect the ability for the throttle body to bypass the butterfly valve to get the extra Air it needs when the engine is on cold start.

the result is the sluggish feeling you get.
