wanting to buy a D2 adjustable suspension which was used in a 07 camry altise.. just wondering would it fit into aurion or not??

Posted

Yes it should fit as the Aurion and gen 6 Camry share the same chassis. Only the tuning of the suspension is different.

Yup. Gen 6 Camry coilovers are a direct fit for the Aurion. JIN who used to be here put in a set of BC Racing coilovers into his Aurion. These were specified as 06+ Camry coilovers. No issues with fitment whatsoever:

Coilover Try out.

Firstly, the coilovers I bought were for camry 2006+ which is ACV40 in chassis and aurions is GSV40 if I am right.

I know they use same chassis but was a bit worried of mis-match in suspension settings.

However, everything went well during the installation and everything was perfect fit for bolt on installation.

Here are some pics.

I like the stock Aurion suspension without coilovers. I could get a little sideways and FF drift in Daryl's car without the ESC interfering too much. I wish you could disable that ESC though Daryl, your car feels like it has a lot of potential for that sort of thing. :yahoo:

I will always remain surprised at how you pulled that off without the VSC light flashing to signal that it had detected something different.

thanks guys..that helped.

one more thing, i heard from a friend that stock aurion coilovers actually has some kind of camber adjuster on it.

does it mean i could adjust the coilovers so it becomes negative camber so my wheels becomes like those jap vip cars?

There are no 'stock' Aurion coilovers in the sense of coilovers with how most people talk about it. The stock strut on the Aurion is technically coilover suspension though, just to give you perspective.

There is practically no camber adjustment to give you more negative camber on the Aurion. The only way to add more camber is to get camber bolts or specialised top mounts.

Aftermarket coilovers though usually allow you to adjust your camber so you can get that VIP look you are after.

I had my work cut out for me, and I could feel it trying to fight me. But I think I had it confused enough and so was able to get away with it. :P
