Trying to decide on a set of 17's

Recommended Posts

I am trying to decide on a set of 17's for the Corolla and considering a set of Kappa's the other options at the moment are Toyota Motorsport Pitlanes or OZ Racing Superturismo. Does any one have a picture of Kappa's on a Wildfire Hatch?

I have tried Google and keeping getting to the catalogue

You can or ask someone to photoshop them on. You'd get some idea of what it would look like. :)

you can't go wrong with kappas but i would choose from the other two just to be unique :P

That's right, also kappas are made by ROH...which is heavy..

OZ racing superturismo is the best option in your list.

I personally like them very much..

Thanks I am leaning to that direction, now just a matter of deciding White, Silver or Black/Dark Grey

the pther option that I forgot to mention is the TRD TF4 though at the moment they are a bit more expensive than the Superturismos

Made enquiries as to weights for 17x7

Oz Racing Superturismo GT (or WRC) 10.5kg - from OZ Racing Australia

Toyota Motorsport (aka TTE) Pitlane (and Podium) 10.5kg - from installation manuals

Toyota Kappa 8.8kg - from my local Toyota parts person looking up the Toyota parts system

17" OZ racing Superturismo for 10.5 kg???

That's impossible !

it is too heavy for 17".

I assume oz racing wheels are about the same with Enkei wheels but my 18" Enkei SC-16 only weight 8.5 kg

That must be tyres included..

I have checked with the company website of OZ Racing.

They do have weight of wheels on the web pages.

Ultraleggera, which they have the weight atm is only 6.94 kg for 17*7.

OZ Racing Link

Although they dont have weights for Superturismo but it wont have big difference on that.

Another link to confirm the weight Link

There is actually a 1kg - 2kg difference between the Superturismo and the Ultraleggera :)

I'm kinda surprised a lot of the OZ Racing rims aren't forged but cast :o

Intersting the that white is heavier,

from Dread Angel's link

Superturismo GT 9.4kg

Superturismo WRC 9.7kg

I can only guess that the weight I was quoted when I emailed OZ Racing was the shipping weight ie. included packaging. However does anyone know if the Superturismo OZ Racing sell through the shops are the same items they sell to Rally teams, if so this would go someway to explaining the extra weight over Ultraleggra as the Supertursimos would need to be stronger wheels, your average road car does not get quality air time (jumps) like the WRC or even ARC cars do
