KE30

I am looking at buying a KE30 for one of our Daughters and was wondering if there is a later model EFI engine that might be an easy swap eg a 5E-FE or something similar that would mate up to the rear wheel drive box.

E series are only FWD (AWD in an EP85? Not sure, doesn't matter anyway as it still would be E-W). 4AGE is a simple conversion, if you want cheaper just get a 4A-FE. I have a feeling somebody is selling engine/box mounts for them on Rollaclub...

Personally I would ditch the old K40 (I think) transmission and fit a T50 - still cheap and much better.

A 4A-FE would be the most economical on a budget or a 7A-FE for a bit more power. Easiest way would be to use an AE71 front crossmember and slot the holes to fit it to the KE30. Also use a gearbox and hydraulic clutch master cylinder from an AE71.

KE30 to 4A series isnt that simple...

would require some significant mods to the cross member... not to mention if you are looking to go EFI, you need new fuel system too.

IMO... just upgrade the 3K to a 5K.

drops straight in, and uses the same K40 Gearbox.

T50 will require a new bellhousing to be made... and finding... a K50 or a T50 that isnt rooted is getting harder and harder.
