Hi Guys

I have a Corolla Sportivo 03 model.

My speedometer and rev counter light up when i turn the car on straight away,

but all the control lights, ie the AC/heating dont have the backlight working, so when i drive at night i cant see what button is what.

the green clock lights up but everything underneath doesnt.

i have checked all the fuses and cant see any that are burnt out

any ideas

Im not too familiar with corollas but there should be fuses under the bonnet as well, check thos if you havent already. If you have maybe theres a brightness dial that adjusts brightness and thats turned way down. Also have you done any electric work in the car recently? If you have check that there arent any S/C etc. Also does your dome light work?

I haven't done any electrical work and yes the dome light works

I've checked both fuse locations. I don't see a dimmer knob for this car anywhere I don't think it has one. Really confused I canusually fix such minor issues. How would I check if I have a shirt circuit?

The thing is I havnt had this car long. So I never checked these things when I bought i just assumed these lights workd as I only ever checked it during the day

Have you checked if your tail lights/ parkers work?

The lighting for these buttons is on the circuit same as your parkers.

Fault could be either a fuse as others have suggested or the tail light relay

If you have a stock head unit does backlighting come on for the buttons ( not the main screen with the frequency in it ) when you turn the lights on?

yeah that and if you're really keen open up the center console and see if the bulbs are actually blown...
