Hi im new to cars tuning etc and i dont get paid alot so i was wanting to stick 98 or high octane fuel in toyota caribs 4a-FE engine.

i want to know if it is safe to do and weather i will need the timeing altered like on some cars.

So far the mods done to it is just a intake pipe with pod filter.

And it sound p cool cause i drive it in the [MANU] mode.

you can certainly run 98RON fuel in a 4A-FE... if you do advance your timing somewhat you will probably see a small performance increase

do you think i will get more km out of a tank and also will it give me performance increase.

here are the engine specs

It may... or it may not. You need to make that call yourself by trying it out.

There are a fair few factors at play here. The age and condition of the engine can make a bit of a difference. Some older engines have been known to benefit quite well from moving from regular unleaded to premium unleaded. If your engine experiences a bit of knocking/pinging at the moment, moving to premium would be a definite performance increase but apart from that, any other performance gains would barely even be noticed.

Personally, I would think that you would be wasting money moving all the way to 98RON for your engine. All you REALLY need to do is move to standard premium unleaded (95RON), but each to their own on that matter really.

you may see a slight gain in fuel economy, but as DJKOR said... its probably not worth it.

Nope, not gonna happen. Unless you're planning big dollars on a NA build, so much cheaper to put a GE/GZE/GZE converted to GTE to get more power.
