How easy is it to install the Dynamat? Is it just like a double-sided padding of some type?

Posted

Yep its sticky thick gummy tar like butyl rubber backed onto thin aluminium sheeting. Pretty easy to work with, cuts easily with kitchen scissors, a small craft roller like Big Pete mentioned is useful for pushing it down firmly but not needed. I washed down the area with metho first to get better sticktion!

Easy.

Lookin good Pete!

oh that custom boot install is looking great. is that going to replace that carpet lift up thing in the boot? I've been thinking about how i should secure my sub and amp for the past 7 months, so i might give this a go when my exams are over.

Posted

yes, this will be a replacement for the stock boot carpet. I used that as a template for my floor cutout. I should be creating the trap door for the Tyre well this weekend and maybe installing the side bits :)

Posted

this is sweet as, will definitely give it a go summer holidays. Do you reckon i might get rattleing in the boot if i have my sub installed like that? my car doesnt have any sound deadening.

Posted

if you lock it all down properly, there shouldn't be a problem

Boot walls are now sorted :)...and harrys for dinner :o
