My battery died recently in my 2 year old RAV ZR6 (56,000 km). I can NEVER be accused of shortening the life of the battery by mis-use however had to pay $187 to NRMA to replace it. The NRMA tech indicated to me that he replaces many RAV batteries stating that the model suffers from early battery failure.

Has anyone else experienced this?

I just replaced my battery on Saturday for my 2003 RAV4, (140,000 km). The batteries are too small.

I generally get 3 years out of batteries in new cars. Got a Pulsar in 1998 new, replaced battery in 2001 just before it was sold, new WRX in 2001 with battery replaced in 2004 also, my mrs had a 2001 golf which also required a new battery in 2004.

Only thing i could suggest is I have had a fair bit of luck using Inox battery conditioner in every battery I buy....they seem to last well. Last battery- in the VT I think 6 or 7 years, died after sitting for a few months unused. I would say I got my moneys worth out of that battery.......
