Q @ Celica ZZT and Stivo Owners

Recommended Posts

Hello ladies and gents,

Just out of curiousity, how effective is your stock radiator when dealing with your stock/modified 2ZZ both daily (in traffic in particular) and track conditions?

Crazy I know it may seem but I'm considering alternative radiators for my AE111 atm, the stock radiator can't hope to keep the water temp down. In open air its fine but in moderate traffic, it reached 120deg! If anyone could provide photos as well or links cause I'm getting conflicting photos...

I can be flogging it for a good 5-8 minutes in 35+ºC heat and it still won't see triple digits. It is a good radiator for NA at least, can't comment on FI. I've also got an oil cooler blocking maybe 30% of the lower opening in the bumper.

The facelift is a bit worse, but that's because there is too much crap blocking the openings in the bumper; easily fixed by removing it.

Never had probs with heat. I dont have separate heat guages but the dash one never went past half way even at the track.

However... the yanks pushing a lot of power (NA or FI) usually fit the Koyo radiator you mentioned.

Sounds like a good alternative! I'm curious though, which of the 3 above is the one for the ZZT? and which one is for the ZZE? Cause I'm concerned about placement of inlet/outlet and diameter of the inlet/outlet. I did a good job confusing myself XD
